This One Food Can Increase Bad Cholesterol (and ruin your health)

According to a new study from University of London, one type of food can singlehandedly run increase bad cholesterol level through the roof.

And this is exactly the type of food that’s becoming more and more popular.

In fact, you should avoid eating this type of food more than once per week.

By now we all know that takeaway meals increase our cholesterol, but we often don’t realize just how harmful it can increase bad cholesterol.

Researchers did their study with young school kids, but this is unlikely to be terribly different for adults.

They analyzed information from 1,948 primary school kids from 85 schools London, Birmingham, and Leicester. They asked the kids about their consumption of takeout meals and about the food they consumed in the previous 24 hours.

In addition, the scientists tested their physical measurements and fasting blood samples.

26% of the kids reported hardly ever/never consuming takeaway meals, 46% ate such meals less than once a week, and 28% ate them once or more per week.

More frequent takeaway meal consumption was related to significantly higher total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and body fat content.

Those who ate more takeaways consumed more calories but less protein and vitamin C.

The takeaway of this study is simple: takeaways can increase bad cholesterol, cook more at home and do less takeaways.

What Can Terribly Happened If You Have High HDL Cholesterol?

Shocking results from a new study published in the journal Nature Communications reveals how high HDL cholesterol level (the “good” cholesterol) can cause partial or complete blindness.

How High HDL Cholesterol (“Good” Cholesterol) Causes Blindness

Shocking results from a new study published in the journal Nature Communications reveals how high HDL cholesterol level (the “good” cholesterol) can cause partial or complete blindness.

This is especially alarming since you’ve been given advice for decades to raise it and millions of people are taking prescription drugs aimed at boosting high HDL cholesterol level.

The researchers were examining the consequences of high and low body mass index, waist to hip ratio, cholesterol, triglycerides (circulating fat), and blood pressure when they made this discovery.

They went about it in a particularly clever way by using genetic information to exclude the interference of environmental factors.

Think about it: if you want to find out whether high cholesterol causes cancer, you can analyze the information of thousands of people, find those with high cholesterol, and check whether they are more likely to have cancer than those with low cholesterol.

But there is a problem with this kind of study. People with high cholesterol may not only have high levels of cholesterol in common, but also particular eating habits and lack of exercise.

In this case, how can researchers tell whether the cancer is caused by high cholesterol or by poor diet or lack of exercise?

To get around this problem, scientists often use the genetic variant previously established to cause high cholesterol, rather than high cholesterol itself, to establish a link with cancer rates. Presumably, since people are born with a genetic variant, this excludes dieting, exercise, and other environmental factors from the equation.

That is what the researchers in the Nature Communications study did.
They took the genetic variants related to cholesterol, blood pressure, and the other conditions listed above from participants in two studies, overall, just over 160,000 people.

They then listed the diseases from which each of these people suffered, and compared the two lists with each other.

There were many unsurprising findings, such as that those prone to obesity were more likely to have type II diabetes and arthritis, and that those with high cholesterol were at risk of coronary artery disease.

But the interesting discovery was that, together with protecting against diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, high HDL cholesterol (commonly called good cholesterol) increases our risk of developing age-related macular degeneration.

Macular degeneration is a more common cause of blindness than cataracts and glaucoma.

It happens when the cells that make up the middle part of your retina, called your macula, deteriorate and die. This causes the central part of your visual field to become blurry and later dark.

If these studies are right, it means that you should never try to increase your HDL levels artificially using medications.

The key is to create a balance between good (HDL) and bad (LDL) cholesterol, using simple lifestyle changes.

What Is Best Way to Reduce High Cholesterol Easily?

A new study in the Journal of the American Heart Association shows that one, tiny little diet change per day can make a huge impact in helping to reduce high cholesterol level.

Easiest Way to Reduce High Cholesterol

When talking about how to reduce high cholesterol naturally – using lifestyle changes – it often involves quite a bit of change.

Some would say – extreme change!

But a new study in the Journal of the American Heart Association shows that one, tiny little diet change per day can make a huge impact on your cholesterol level.

Canadian researchers reviewed 112 previously published randomized controlled trials that replaced their subjects’ animal with plant proteins for three or more weeks.

They found that the substitution of just one to two animal proteins per day reduced LDL cholesterol, other non-high density lipoprotein cholesterol, and apolipoprotein B, a cholesterol component that has also been linked with heart disease.

The lead author recommended that we should enhance the effect by combining plant proteins with other cholesterol-lowering foods like oats, barley, psyllium, viscous, and plant sterols such as those in grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds.

Many foods are also artificially fortified with plant sterols.

The author also suggested that you could obtain the best plant proteins from soy, nuts, peas, beans, lentils and chickpeas.

You don’t have to stick to only two substitutions per day, of course; the more, the better.

To Reduce High Cholesterol Here are some examples of substitutions:

1. Replace dairy milk with almond, cashew, or soya milk in your cereal and hot beverages throughout the day.

2. Replace your butter with nut butter.

3. Eat bean or lentil stew instead of meat stew.

4. Instead of pieces of barbecued or grilled meat, rather use vegetarian substitutes made of textured vegetable protein. They can be just as easily added to stir-fries.

If you replace all or most of your animal proteins with plant proteins, you must pay a bit of attention to ensure that you obtain all the necessary amino acids.

Animal proteins contain all amino acids, but most plant proteins contain only some of them. That is why it is best to obtain your plant proteins from different plants, not just from one or two alone.

But there are some plant proteins that contain all the amino acids, such as soy, tofu, tempeh, edamame, quinoa, buckwheat, Ezekiel bread, seitan (wheat gluten), Chia seed and hemp seed (both a bit low in lysine), rice and beans combined, Hummus and Pita combined, or even the old classic, a peanut butter sandwich.

In fact, every time you combine legumes and grains, you have a complete protein with all the necessary amino acids.

Weird Arthritis Heart Attack Link Discovered

The journal Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases recently revealed a shocking study linking arthritis and cardiovascular diseases.

It looks like there is the same underlying cause for both diseases. So if you’re suffering from arthritis and also have high cholesterol or high blood pressure, the chances are it’s directly linked.

What can you do about this arthritis heart attack link?

The good news is that if you take the right steps, you can cure both diseases in one blow.

The scientists examined the medical records of Americans with arthritis that were also registered for Medicare. Their average age was 69 and 79% of them were women.

All the subjects were required to have had multi-biomarker disease activity tests performed to test the severity of their arthritis, and the records were also examined to find cases of hospitalization for pneumonia, sepsis, and heart attack.

The scientists also obtained information regarding the severity of coronary heart disease.

What did research on 34,000 people reveal about the arthritis heart attack link?

Of the 34,000 subjects, they could clearly see that those with higher disease activity related to arthritis were more likely to develop pneumonia or sepsis, or suffer heart attacks or serious events related to coronary heart disease.

The problem with arthritis is that it involves inflammation that is not only localized in the joints, but systemic inflammation that occurs throughout the body, including in the heart and arteries.

That is why the scientists concluded that the study also confirms the idea that heart disease is driven by inflammation and oxidization.

What is the best approach to tackle this arthritis heart attack link?

Even if this is new in the traditional medical system, this is not new to us. Our step-by-step cholesterol strategy is exactly focused on eliminating inflammation and oxidization in the heart and arteries – thereby clearing out all cholesterol plaque buildup in a month.Learn the details and try it out for yourself here…

What Can Be the Terrible Effects of Toxic to Cholesterol Level?

The Non-Food Factor of High Cholesterol Level

Omega-3 has long been believed to hold the key to lowering high cholesterol level naturally, and the best source of omega-3 comes from fatty fishes.

So people who eat the most fish should have the lowest cholesterol level, right?

A new Canadian study put this theory to the test by researching the one population that eats more fish than anyone else, and the results were surprising.

The study appears in a recent edition of the journal Environmental Research.

They examined the medical information of 2,191 people from the Inuit populations in three Arctic areas collected by the Adult Inuit Health Survey in 2007-2008.

This population consumes more fish products than anyone else does.

The researchers specifically checked for high or low cholesterol level. They then compared these to the level of persistent organic pollutants circulating through the subject’s blood streams.

Persistent environmental pollutants include polychlorinated biphenyls (an additive used in paints and plastic, among other things), a whole range of pesticides (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, toxaphene, hexachlorobenzene, aldrin, etc), flame retardants like mirex, and so forth.

The Canadian study focused specifically on the levels of polychlorinated biphenyls in the subject’s blood.

Overall, 32.8% of the subjects had high cholesterol level, and these happened to also be those with the highest circulating levels of the polychlorinated biphenyls.

The researchers concluded that these compounds appeared in high amounts in the marine life that the people ate, due to the effect of the ocean’s tides in moving pollutants from the rest of the globe towards the Arctic.

Hence, even pollutants generated in the southern hemisphere end up in the Arctic where the fish, whales, polar bears, and ultimately humans, consume them.

This is the biggest problem with persistent environmental pollutants. They are, as the name implies, persistent. This means that once they are in the environment, they remain there.

Many such pollutants have in fact been outlawed by the Stockholm Convention from 1995 onwards, but they still appear in the environment and in our food chain.

This means that clearing your body of pollution is very important to lowering cholesterol level.

To Cure All Disease, Eat Like a Viking

How about losing 5 kg (10 pounds), and at the same time can cure all disease such as bringing your blood pressure down drastically, and healing inflammation, type 2 diabetes, and arthritis?

Achieve all this in six months and while enjoying the delicious eating style of the Nordic Vikings!

This is exactly what 181 obese people did in a study from the University of Copenhagen. The research was followed up, and again and confirmed, in a Finnish study published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

From around 800 AD to 1100 AD the Vikings ruled the northern hemisphere. Although in many ways they were barbarians, they were mostly free of the modern diseases with which we are faced.

One reason is that back then there were no chemicals in the food. So even if fresh foods were hard to come by in the winter time, they had to use measures other than freezers and preservatives to have supplies for the winter.

Fish was available fresh all year round, forming the basis of the Nordic diet. Whole grains such as spelt and rye were easy to store, in addition to root vegetables, berries, and nuts. Other vegetables were plentiful in the summer so we can add them to the diet.

The bottom line is that nothing was heavily processed or refrigerated. The same principles make the caveman, Adkins, Mediterranean, and any other healthy diet. Call it what you want, but all these diets share one common theme: elimination of preservatives and processing.

Watch these 2 Videos –

The original Danish study proved how healthy the Nordic diet is. It contributes to pretty much all levels of health, from weight loss to blood pressure, including inflammation diseases such as type 2 diabetes and arthritis.

But the Finnish study dug deeper and showed exactly why it’s so healthy and can cure all disease. The Finnish researchers found that the diet manages several types of genes that cause inflammation. And since inflammation is one of the biggest health issues of the Western world, this is a biggie.

Chronic inflammation puts extreme stress on you since your own immune cells begin to attack other cells in your body. This causes plaque build-up in the arteries, joint pain (arthritis), and type 2 diabetes when inflammation attacks your pancreas and liver.

Maybe worst of all, it adds to the overall stress in your system, the single biggest cause of high blood pressure. You can have mental stress, emotional stress, sensory stress and now with inflammation, physical stress.

To tackle high blood pressure, you must lower the overall stress level (production of stress hormones). The easiest and most effective way to do this is by using a set of three easy exercises.

I highly recommend trying the Nordic diet if you suffer from any chronic diseases. To reverse them, you may, however, need a more solid, focused strategy.

Here are the strategies to cure all disease I recommend for:

Some weird results about the side effects of having high HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol), came out of a study recently published in the journal Prostate Cancer and Prostatic Diseases.

Apparently, improving your cholesterol level by having high HDL cholesterol can drastically increase your risk of one of the most common, serious cancers out there.

The American and Irish scientists conducting the study were at a loss as to why this happened. But as usual, we natural researchers understand it better.

Prostate cancer is ranked on a scale called the Gleason scale. If your prostate tissue looks like normal tissue, it is ranked as one, and if it looks extremely abnormal, it is ranked as five.

After performing biopsies from different parts of the prostate, the doctor adds those scores together for a Gleason score of, for example, “4 + 3 = 7”.

A score of below six is normal, six is low-grade and not terribly serious, seven is moderately cancerous, and eight to ten is high-grade and therefore very serious.

The new study analyzed the medical information of 4,974 men collected by a previous study called REDUCE.

The men in the REDUCE study had their cholesterol tested right at the beginning. They were also given biopsies after two years and after four years.

Interestingly, it wasn’t raising the LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) that increased the cancer risk but raising the high HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol).

In this study, each additional 10 milligrams of cholesterol per deciliter of blood (10 mg/dl) increased the men’s high-grade cancer risk by 5%, while every 10 mg/dl increase in their HDL cholesterol spiked this risk by 14%.

Like other studies, this again suggests that you should not try to aim for high HDL cholesterol artificially using medications. Instead, try to balance your cholesterol diet with good food and lifestyle changes.
