How to Reduce High Blood Pressure Naturally at Home?

Reduce High Blood Pressure Naturally at Home - One of the most prescribed high blood pressure medications has been proven to more than double your risk of a specific type of cancer. This is according to a new study from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, recently published in JAMA Internal Medicine. Fortunately, not everyone is at risk.

Reduce High Blood Pressure Naturally at Home - A Drink Skews Blood Pressure Readings

A recent study published in the American Journal of Hypertension introduces a new twist to the blood pressure dilemma.

You may actually not have high blood pressure.

Even if your doctor says so.

It may actually be that you just happened to drink this drink a few hours before your doctor’s office visit.

So, you may be suffering the side effects of blood pressure medications, or worrying about your blood pressure, for nothing.

The Western University and Lawson Health Research Institute researchers asked 13 people with normal blood pressure to abstain from caffeine-containing products for a week.

In the following three weeks, they gave them two 300 ml cups of black coffee (week 1), the maximum recommended dose of a common calcium channel blocker blood pressure treatment (felodipine) (week 2), and the coffee together with the felodipine (week 3).

From this, they drew the following conclusions:

1. After two days of no caffeine consumption, caffeine clears from your bloodstream, resulting in a higher blood pressure spike when next you consume it. Blood pressure then remains raised for hours.

2. In the presence of caffeine, calcium channel blockers cannot decrease blood pressure as well as in its absence, probably because caffeine interferes with the ability of the drug to relax and widen blood vessels.

The first conclusion increases the likelihood that your doctor will diagnose you as suffering from hypertension when your blood pressure is actually normal. So, if you only occasionally drink caffeine drinks, avoid them hours before your doctor’s visit.

Second, if you want to treat your blood pressure with drugs, you’ll need sky-high doses if you occasionally consume caffeine.

For those who control their blood pressure via natural dietary and lifestyle methods (which we, of course, recommend), it arguably means that natural methods will fail to keep your blood pressure normal for a few hours after caffeine intake.

The good news is that this study applies only to occasional consumers.

Researchers have long understood that caffeine spikes blood pressure, but they have also repeatedly concluded that regular consumption increases your tolerance of its effects, meaning that caffeine does not increase blood pressure in regular caffeine consumers.

This leaves you with two options: either drink one or two caffeinated drinks daily or leave it alone completely.

Reduce High Blood Pressure Naturally at Home - These Blood Pressure Drugs Double Cancer Risk

One of the most prescribed high blood pressure medications has been proven to more than double your risk of a specific type of cancer.

This is according to a new study from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, recently published in JAMA Internal Medicine.
Fortunately, not everyone is at risk.

Those who take the calcium channel blockers are developing invasive ductal and invasive lobular cancers at a rate of 2.5 times their peers.

Calcium channel blockers reduce hypertension by dilating the blood vessels because they inhibit the flow of calcium into muscle cells.

Some scientists believe that their tendency to change the way cells function is the reason why they are more likely to cause cells to malfunction and become cancerous.

So, if you’re taking calcium channel blockers, talk to your doctor about ways to get off them.

Reduce High Blood Pressure Naturally at Home - A Healthy Habit Indicates High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is usually blamed on unhealthy lifestyle choices, such as bad diet and lack of exercise.

But a new study, from Dr. Nobuo Sasaki and colleagues at Hiroshima University, reveals a healthy habit that people with high blood pressure tend to have.

The researchers examined 2,400 adults to find out whether high blood pressure influenced bedtime and sleep quality.

Peculiarly, they found that men, but not women, with high blood pressure tend to fall asleep earlier than those with normal blood pressure.

In their study, hypertensive men went to bed, on average, 18 minutes earlier than their healthy peers: 11:10 PM versus 11:28 PM.

In addition, they discovered that hypertensive men slept worse than those with normal blood pressure, to the extent that they scored with insomniacs as poor sleepers.

So, does going to sleep early cause high blood pressure?

Not at all.

The study merely suggests that the tendency to fall asleep early can indicate that you already have high blood pressure.

If this is the case, you may want to get yourself tested.

Most likely, this happens because those with high blood pressure never get the “low-blood-pressure rest” in the middle of the night that healthy people get. Therefore, their bodies are under stress 24/7.

Our blood pressure exercises are designed to break this stress-circle high blood pressure cause.

They give your body and mind something I call a “Focused Break”, which reboots your system to a healthy blood pressure level in as little as nine minutes.

Reduce High Blood Pressure Naturally at Home - This Ancient Practice Beats Blood Pressure Meds

They can’t compete. Modern meds can often achieve good results in some areas, but when it comes to blood pressure reduction, there’s an ancient practice that’s fun, safe, and it leaves you feeling great, so without tablets, and without side effects, unless you count the overall feeling of calmness and serenity.

Researchers in Pennsylvania have added to the growing body of evidence in favor of yoga. They found that even light yoga practice lowers blood pressure like nothing else can, no prescription necessary.

They took a group of middle-aged men and women and split them into groups. One practiced yoga, one followed a special diet, and one did both.

The yoga-only group cut down their systolic blood pressure numbers, beating out those in the special diet group by an average of 3 points.

Those who combined the two approaches saw the best improvements of all, and lots of those taking part had their blood pressure drop by greater amounts than those using the most widely-used blood pressure meds—only without the unwanted side-effects.

We’ve based our simple blood pressure exercises on some aspects of the yoga philosophy, but the movements are nowhere near as taxing. That means you can benefit from them even if you aren’t in your best shape at the moment.

And you don’t even need to learn anything. No movements to remember and no names to learn. Just follow along with the audio. It couldn’t be simpler.

Reduce High Blood Pressure Naturally at Home - See What High Blood Pressure Makes You Crave…

If you’re like most people with high blood pressure, you’ll find yourself being a lot more conscious about what you put in your mouth, but what if your mind tries to talk you into doing something that’s bad for you?

Some heavier people blame their weight gain on a sweet tooth, but for those folks with high blood pressure, there’s another craving that’s working just as hard to undo their best efforts.

Maybe you suffer from this craving too? It’s one that researchers in Sao Paulo, Brazil identified in a series of experiments. They gave bread with varying amounts of salt to their test subjects, and Lo and behold, it was the people with high blood pressure who always reached for the saltiest slices.

Thanks to this observation, they began to question what was happening here. Could it be that people with hypertension were prone to crave the very thing that makes their problem worse? It seemed so, and it wasn’t just about the taste either. They found that low- or no- sodium alternatives didn’t have the same effect on their subjects. It was the sodium that their bodies seem to yearn for.

But what could the reason be? There’s been speculation that it might be stress-related, because people under the most stress (of any kind) crave the most salt. And salt-based snacks are well known as being one of the most popular types of “comfort food” out there.

Stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline have many effects. And it’s not just about triggering the fight or flight response, because they can also change mood, energy levels, sense of smell and yes, our tastes too.

We suddenly need high-sugar and high-salt foods when stress grips us, ironically, the very opposite of what we should be reaching for.

It’s just another example of how stress and high blood pressure are linked. But what can you do about it?

Don’t despair! You can help yourself plenty by using these simple blood pressure exercises. They can reduce blood pressure and curb your stress hormone levels too. Follow this link to see how easy they are to follow…

Reduce High Blood Pressure Naturally at Home - Worst Job for High Blood Pressure (Surprising)

The European Journal of Preventive Cardiology recently published a study demonstrating how people with many of the most common jobs were at an increased risk of a heart attack.

The results were especially scary for people who already had a pre-existing case of high blood pressure.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t jobs that required a long hour of sitting that were the most dangerous.

Instead, the scientists found that, when combined with high blood pressure, hard physical labor posed a serious heart attack risk.

To reach this conclusion, they analyzed the data of 12,093 female nurses, which was collected by the Danish Nurse Cohort Study from 1993 onward.

The nurses were between the ages of 45 and 64 when the data was taken.

They divided the nurses into three groups who reported their exertion levels to be either low, moderate or high. In addition, they divided them into groups with high or low blood pressure.

After 15 years, during which they continued to collect the nurse’s health information, this is what they found:

• Nurses with normal blood pressure and high physical activity had five extra cases of heart diseases per 10,000 people per year over those with normal blood pressure and low physical activity.
• Nurses with high blood pressure had 15 more cases of heart disease per 10,000 people per year than those with low or normal blood pressure.
• Nurses with both high blood pressure and hard labor had 60 extra cases of heart disease per 10,000 people per year. Yes, that’s a 6% spike in heart attack risk if you work hard and have high blood pressure at the same time.

If you think about it, this is pretty alarming. High blood pressure alone is considered to be a serious risk factor for cardiovascular events.

That is why medical professionals, as well as this website, constantly stress the need to keep it under control.

But the high-risk would quadruple when you load a physically demanding job on top of hypertension.

This takes us to the four types of stress that cause high blood pressure and heart attack:

Emotional stress – such as divorce and loss of a loved one
Mental stress – such as negative thinking and worrying
Sensory stress – such as loud noise in your surrounding
Physical stress – as in the case of this study, was caused by hard physical work.

This stress accumulates over time. Also, one type of stress can lead to another. For example, if you exhaust yourself with work, it can lead to emotional stress and mental stress.

What is the Best Way to Get Your Blood Pressure Down?

Get Your Blood Pressure Down - This Vegetable Heals High Blood Pressure In 24 Hours. Could one common vegetable possibly lower blood pressure significantly in just 24 hours? What new vegetable discovery is responsible and why have you not heard of it?

Get Your Blood Pressure Down - This Vegetable Heals High Blood Pressure In 24 Hours

Could one common vegetable possibly lower blood pressure significantly in just 24 hours?

What new vegetable discovery is responsible and why have you not heard of it?

You have. In fact, this vegetable has been around likely as long as there have been people.

Beetroot juice.

It’s been touted lately as a “super” food and practically a cure-all vegetable; however, it’s not just “lately” that this vegetable has been around.

It’s been documented that beetroot juice was used in Roman times to treat everything from fever to acne and was also used as an aphrodisiac.

While I wouldn’t discount these properties based on all of my research into beetroot juice benefits, my focus is on its effect pertaining to blood pressure.

For some time, we’ve known that this juice could lower blood pressure, but in 2010, researchers of a British study discovered that nitrate is the ingredient in the juice that is responsible for lowering blood pressure.

In this study, participants were divided into 3 groups and given beetroot juice, nitrate pills, and a placebo, respectively.

Those on the juice and nitrate pills had a significant blood pressure reduction within less than 24 hours, as compared to the placebo group.

Given that many individuals with high blood pressure can end up on multiple medications, beetroot juice is a great option. Just be aware that beetroot juice can have a burning effect on the throat on its own. If you want to avoid that, mix it with a carrot/apple juice combination.

Unfortunately, beetroot juice is also a “love it” or “hate it” type of drink. Some people just can’t drink it, no matter how healthy it may be.

Get Your Blood Pressure Down - High Blood Pressure and Dementia Connection Explained

The journal Stroke has just published a study on the connection between high blood pressure and dementia, which was conducted by a team of scientists led by the UC Davis School of Medicine.

Not only does this connection give us a way to detect dementia 20-30 years before it strikes, it (more importantly) also leads us to find a solid cure for both high blood pressure and an early onset of memory loss and dementia.

To be precise, the study traced the connection from lifestyle, to high blood pressure, to atherosclerosis, to a decrease in brain matter.

For data, they used health statistics from approximately 1,900 people whose information was collected by the Framingham Heart Study.

They considered three important test scores:

– an arterial tonometry measurement of blood pressure
– a carotid femoral pulse wave velocity measurement of artery hardening (atherosclerosis)
– an MRI brain scan as a measurement of brain volume and structure.

They found that when compared to people with normal arterial structure, those with hardened arteries had higher blood pressure, less white brain matter, and structurally damaged grey brain matter.

Using this data, the researchers speculated the following connection:

1. Lifestyle factors like high cholesterol diets and a lack of exercise caused both high blood pressure and a buildup of plaque in your arteries.

2. This will cause your arteries to harden or stiffen.

3. Stiff arteries further increase blood pressure, because your heart must pump a lot harder to get blood through these inflexible plaque-clogged arteries.

4. Together, all this arterial damage restricts the blood flow to your organs, including your brain.

5. Insufficient blood flow to the brain then causes atrophy in the white and grey matter.

This shows us that lowering blood pressure and improving cardiovascular health is essential to our cognitive function further down the road.

But an interesting aspect for me is that this is further proof of the main underlying cause of Alzheimer’s and Dementia – a cause that I’ve been preaching for years now.

I’m talking about lack of oxygen-filled blood to the brain.

Get Your Blood Pressure Down - Drop Your Blood Pressure 11 Points in 3 Hours

A new research study conducted by the scientists of Queen Mary College at the University of London has recently published an article in Hypertension, the journal of the American Heart Association, which had astonishing results.

You see, there are certain types of vegetables that contain a natural chemical that lowers your blood pressure by 11 points in just 3-6 hours.

The study linking these vegetables to a decrease in blood pressure involved 15 people comprising of 8 women and 7 men; all of whom suffered from systolic high blood pressure ranging from 140 to 159mm Hg. Participants were not suffering from complications as a result of their condition, nor were they on blood pressure medications.

After drinking a glass of nitrate-containing water or beetroot juice, the participant’s blood pressure was taken, and the results were astounding – a whopping 11.2 mmHg decrease on average. The biggest drop in blood pressure was measured after 3-6 hours, but it was still significantly lower than the baseline when it was tested again after 24 hours.

Since the overall point of the study was to determine whether optimal choices in diet and lifestyle could indeed affect blood pressure levels, the hypothesis was correct as the answer was an emphatic and resounding “yes!”

The amount of nitrate used in the study was equal to consuming either two beets or a bowl of lettuce. This shows that just ONE meal that was high in nitrate is enough to lower your blood pressure throughout the day.

Remember, when it comes to high nitrate foods, you aren’t limited to beetroot; you can also add carrots, fennel, lettuce, radishes, cabbage, spinach or green beans to your meals for the same results. It seems that variety is not only the spice of life; it might actually prolong it!

Lower Blood Pressure in Minutes - This No-No-Food Beats Blood Pressure Drugs

Many foods that were on the “do not eat” list a few years ago have been researched more- only to find out we should have been eating them all along.

One such food in particular has been recently found to reduce high blood pressure by as much as taking a dose of the leading blood pressure drug, and it’s likely sitting in your fridge right now.

Using hypertensive rats, the researchers isolated a chemical found in egg whites called RVPSL.

Even after heat-treating the chemical, as would be found when cooking egg white, researchers found that the rat’s blood pressure came down as much as it would after receiving a single dose of most popular ACE-Inhibitor blood pressure drugs.

While the researchers acknowledge that more studies would need to be done to see its benefits in humans, they were encouraged to see that the natural compounds in egg whites can be used in concert with other treatments to find effective, safer treatment for hypertension.

Lower Blood Pressure in Minutes - Yummy Fruit Heals Genetic High Blood Pressure

Most people would agree that if they’ve been eating unhealthily, not exercising or under a lot of stress, their high blood pressure could be healed with lifestyle changes.

A new study revealed that one common fruit can actually alter the gene function in your heart to lower your blood pressure naturally.

Best of all: It’s very tasty and can be found in all supermarkets.

Researchers have long been aware of the benefits of grapes. Respected experts, such as Dr. Mark Hyman, have even called it the “mother of all antioxidants.” But now it seems that the fruit is even better than was initially thought.

A recent study published by the University of Michigan showed that grapes work to promote an increase in glutathione levels within the heart – an antioxidant that fights against heart disease that is specifically linked to high blood pressure.

The scientists fed rats an extremely high-fat diet. Then they supplemented them with a large amount of powdered grape.

The results were outstanding. The grape powder actually prevented the hearts of the rats from becoming enlarged and the arteries from hardening, an occurrence that usually happens with humans and animals on a high-fat diet.

Once the scientists were aware of the positive benefits of grapes, they went on to conduct a further study.

Now they fed the grape-rich diet to rats that suffered from hypertension. This new diet lasted for 18 weeks and the results were even more significant than those seen previously.

The grapes actually altered the very genes of the animals.

Furthermore, by altering the genes, the grapes boosted the antioxidant abilities of the cells in the heart, thus preventing it from stiffening and suffering under the ravages of high blood pressure.

This shows that even genetic high blood pressure can be healed naturally.

Lower Blood Pressure in Minutes - Effortlessly Drop Blood Pressure 10 Points in 5 Minutes

Lowering blood pressure significantly with workout requires a lot of blood, sweat, and pain – which is why most people don’t do it.

For these same reasons, three new studies published in the FASEB Journal have been making waves, as they have proof of a simple, almost effortless exercise that is more effective than hours of aerobics or weight training.

Best of all, it only takes five minutes and you can do it anywhere.

In the 1970s and 1980s, medical professionals started using a method called inspiratory muscle strength training to wean people off respirators and to increase the lung capacity of people that had lung diseases.

This treatment required them to breathe through a hand-held device called an inspiratory muscle trainer, which provided resistance when they inhaled.

As such, the device is similar to the weights you use in weight resistance training to strengthen your muscles. The only difference is it just works on your inspiratory muscles.

In the first study, Colorado researchers split 13 volunteers, all with resting systolic blood pressure that was above 120 mmHg, into a real treatment group and a sham treatment group.

The real treatment group had to breathe through this device for six days a week for six weeks, taking 30 breaths per day. The device was set on 75 percent maximum inspiratory pressure.

The sham group was asked to do it for the same amount of time and number of breaths, but the device they used was a sham device that provided no resistance.

After six weeks, they found two important improvements in the treatment group.

1. Their resting systolic blood pressure was considerably lower than that of the sham treatment group. This was just over 10 mmHg lower than prior to the study.

2. Their large arteries functioned better by being better able to dilate in response to blood flow.

The scientists were thus pleasantly surprised, as a 10-mmHg blood pressure reduction is better than what any long aerobic exercise session can accomplish.

It is also better than what any single blood pressure drug can do.

In the second study, they asked 14 volunteers to run on a treadmill after the same six-week schedule of breathing, after dividing the volunteers into the same real and sham treatment groups.

After the study, the treatment group was found to be able to exercise longer, with less cardiorespiratory effort, and at a lower heart rate than the sham treatment group could.

The third study also used 14 volunteers divided into the same two groups, with the same breathing schedules for the same amount of time.

After six weeks, they again found a 10-mmHg resting systolic blood pressure reduction in the treatment group.

On top of that, the treatment group also showed some cognitive improvements, such as being able to process information faster and being able to remember better.

Interestingly, our simple blood pressure exercises are based on very similar techniques as the inspiratory muscle trainer. The only difference? We do not need a machine.

So, if you don’t have an inspiratory muscle trainer lying around and want to lower blood pressure in minutes, you can just do the exercises found here for as little as nine minutes per day (and reap even greater results)…
