Discover How, Five Minutes from NOW, Your Acid Reflux Can Be Totally Gone & You’ll Feel Great Night and Day |
Eliminate Acid Reflux by Avoiding
These 7 Factors
A
new study published in the Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care researched
lifestyle factors that contributed to acid reflux.
Eight
factors that most people assumed would be the direct cause of acid reflux were actually found to have absolutely no effect.
Seven
other easily avoidable lifestyle factors, however, were found to be the case of
the majority of acid reflux cases.
The
subjects for the study were 400 university students, with males comprising 56
percent of the group. They were given a gastroesophageal reflux disease
questionnaire together with a questionnaire to record information like their
sex, age, height, weight, habits, and typical diets.
An
impressive 23.8 percent of them scored above the minimum score for acid reflux or GERD.
Male
students were more likely than female students to suffer from acid reflux, and those with a family history of heartburn
were more likely to have it.
Other
causal factors were almost entirely under the student’s control.
These
were:
1.
smoking,
2. a high body-mass index that was above 25 kg/m2,
3. fast-food consumption,
4. tea consumption,
5. carbonated beverages consumption,
6. speedy eating,
7. sleeping within an hour after dinner.

Surprisingly,
the consumption of coffee, fried foods, and spicy foods had no effect, and
neither did inadequate sleep, between-meal snacking, the amount of physical exercise,
breakfast skipping, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory use.
Now if avoiding these seven factors is not enough, then you can
use this simple home remedy to eliminate acid reflux in just five minutes. It contains three ingredients you already have in your kitchen and just takes five minutes to make…
Eliminate Acid Reflux - This Diet Is
a Better Acid Reflux Treatment Than PPIs
This
Diet Is a Better Acid Reflux Treatment Than PPIs [Proton pump inhibitors] are
the standard treatment for acid reflux, but they have been linked with an
increased long-term risk of stomach cancer, among other health problems.
As
a result, we are always on the lookout for a treatment that is both safe and an
effective remedy for acid reflux.
A
new study published in the journal JAMA Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery may
finally reveal the key to healing acid reflux.
And
it comes in a form of a very healthy, popular diet, now proven more effective
than proton pump inhibitors.
In
the study, researchers examined medical records of people previously treated
for acid reflux.
85
people with this condition were treated with PPIs and were given basic advice
to avoid coffee, alcohol, chocolate, fatty foods, and spicy foods.
99
people were treated with the Mediterranean diet and alkaline water, combined
with a similar list of foods and beverages to avoid.
The
alkaline water had a pH above 8.0 and the Mediterranean diet was 90%
plant-based.
All
participants completed the standard Reflux Symptom Index before the treatment
and six weeks after it started. A reduction of six or more points on the index
means that the participant has experienced a clinically significant improvement
in reflux symptoms.
In
the PPI treatment group, 54.1% of patients experienced such a clinically
significant drop in their symptoms.
In
the diet change group, 62.6% of participants showed improvement that was
clinically significant.
The
average reduction in symptoms was 27.2% for the PPI treatment group and 39.8%
for the diet change group.
This
shows, firstly, that more people benefited from the Mediterranean diet and alkaline
water combination than from the PPIs.
Secondly,
the PPI treatment reduced acid reflux symptoms by a lot more than the diet
change treatment managed to do.
Eliminate Acid Reflux - A
Scary-Sounding Acid Reflux Treatment (backed by a new study)
The
journal Gastroenterology
has just published a study revealing a very unusual but effective drug-free
treatment for acid reflux.
And
as scary as this treatment may sound, it’s actually quite safe.
The
lower esophageal sphincter is the gatekeeper of your stomach.
In
a healthy body, the lower esophageal sphincter opens when food needs to pass
from the esophagus to the stomach and closes when no more food is coming. This
prevents food and stomach acid from flowing back into the esophagus.
If
this sphincter is too weak to close or it opens at inappropriate times, your
stomach acid and half-digested food will come back up into your esophagus,
causing the burning sensation and inflammation
with which sufferers are so familiar.
The
authors of the new study noticed that some physicians had started using
electrical stimulation of this sphincter to try to restore its strength and
normal function.
In
response, Endostim, one of the providers of the technology, set up a global
registry to record all cases of people who had received the treatment.
By
February 2018, the details of 268 people from seven countries had been recorded
on this registry, giving scientists a good sample of study participants to
evaluate for the effectiveness of the electrical stimulation treatment.
53%
of them suffered from moderate or severe acid reflux. This number dropped to
23% after three to six months, and even further to 20% after one year of
treatment.
70%
of the treated people were able to give up proton pump inhibitors completely.
16
patients experienced adverse health events, and six had to have the devices
removed. This shows that it is a fairly safe treatment that is simultaneously
very effective.
Electrical
stimulation of the lower esophageal sphincter works via a device that works a
bit like a pacemaker. It is implanted and can easily be removed if it does not
work.
It
will not work for everyone with acid reflux, however, only for those people
whose lower esophageal sphincters have become dysfunctional.
If
implementing an electric device inside of you doesn’t sound too good, do not
despair.
