Every girl or woman on planet earth is weight conscious to at least a certain extent. It is almost second nature to them.

If she’s too thin, then she wants to gain more weight. If she’s too overweight, or even a little overweight, she wants to reduce every bit of those last overweight pounds. That’s just how women are made.

And when women move towards pregnancy, their greatest fear and challenge is the same: weight gain! And weight gain in reality, for pregnant women, is just that; a challenge.

The weight that you gain during your pregnancy is the most important thing. The weight gain can act as a yardstick to measure the success of the pregnancy.

What you weighed before the pregnancy, how much you should gain during the pregnancy, what kind of diet you should take during the pregnancy etc are all important elements to consider.

An aptly weighted woman will need to gain around 26 to 28 pounds altogether, if she is expecting only one child. However, if she is expecting twins then she needs to gain 35 to 40 pounds.

The required weight gain, which signals a good pregnancy, will increase according to the number of babies that the mother-to-be is expecting at the same time.

The weight that is gained overall is not just that of the baby’s. The total baby weight includes several other things that contribute to it, such as the baby’s actual weight (8 pounds approx.), the placenta (2 to 3 pounds), the amniotic fluids (2 to 3 pounds), the breast tissue (2 to 3 pounds), the uterus (2 to 5 pounds), fat stores (5 to 9 pounds), and the blood supply (4 pounds).

In a nutshell, around 25 pounds of the weight that the mother gains is the “baby weight” i.e. the weight that is essential for the development of the baby.

One of the most important aspects, before you can work up your diet to increase weight, is your actual weight i.e. the weight that you had before the pregnancy. The weight before your pregnancy does effect the baby weight that you must gain during the pregnancy.

If the mother-to-be is underweight, then she must work to gain at least 28 to 40 pounds altogether. And if the mother-to-be is overweight, then she won’t need to gain much baby weight; she may need to gain as little as 11 pounds in total during the pregnancy.

The weight that the mother-to-be gains during the pregnancy is directly tied to the total fat stores in the body needed for a proper delivery and breast feeding. This is the reason why so much importance is tied to the weight of the mother-to-be during the pregnancy.

If the mother-to-be becomes overweight, it might present complications during the delivery of the baby. In the same way if the mother-to-be is underweight, it may undermine the development and nourishment process of the baby. Therefore, a woman’s weight before pregnancy affects the amount of total baby weight that needs to be gained.

What Is the Sizeable Pregnancy Weight Gain Made Up Of?

Click HERE to Discover a Proven and Practical Weight Control Technique for All Pregnant Mothers

Pregnancy weight gain is not only a natural process, but a necessity as well. Your body needs to store more fat and minerals because now you not only have to nourish yourself, but also nourish the development of your child.

Pregnancy weight gain is a necessity, but you must make sure that you do not gain extra weight. If you become over weight, you might have complications or difficulties with the child’s delivery.

So how will you know that you are starting to gain those unnecessary extra pounds, and if you do gain them how do you lose them?

With so much importance associated to the weight that the mother-to-be gains during the pregnancy, you need to make sure that you are eating the healthiest and beneficial diet available to you; but, this is a diet that is not intended for weight loss, it is intended for proper nutrition.

A healthy diet will help keep you in proper health, nourish your developing baby, and will also help to gain or lose your weight as your condition may demand it.

Generally, during the first 3 months (the first trimester) a pregnant woman should gain around 2 to 4 pounds. From the third month on, the mother needs to gain at least 1 pound every week until the delivery.

Therefore, a mother expecting a single baby will need to gain about 26 to 28 pounds, but if she is expecting twins then she will need to gain even more weight i.e. around 35 to 40 pounds (averaging 1.5 pounds a week.)

The weight that a woman needs to gain for her pregnancy has already been discussed, but how much of the pregnancy weight gain is actually the baby’s weight?

The weight that the mother gains, surely isn’t all about the baby’s! And it is not; the entire baby weight or the entire weight that the mother gains includes several body tissues that develop during the pregnancy. A general break up of this is as follows:

•       The proportion of the weight of the baby itself to the entire weight gain hovers around 8 pounds.
•       2 to 3 pounds of the weight qualify as the placenta’s proportion.
•       The Amniotic fluid adds around 2 to 3 pounds more to the entire weight.
•       The extra breast tissue that develops (necessary for breast feeding) comprises of yet another 2 to 3 pounds of the total weight.
•       The blood that is stored for the pregnancy amounts to about 4 pounds of the total weight gain.
•       The extra fat that is stored for the delivery of the baby and breast feeding adds around 5 to 9 pounds to the total weight.
•       The uterus increases in weight from 2 to 5 pounds

The above is a general break up of what the mother’s entire weight gain comprises of, but the important thing is the weight of the mother before the pregnancy.

If a mother-to-be is underweight then she needs to gain 28 to 40 pounds altogether, and if the mother-to-be is overweight, she only needs to gain around 11 pounds.

Weight Gain During Pregnancy - How Much Is Really Excellent?

Click HERE to Discover a Proven and Practical Weight Control Technique for All Pregnant Mothers

Weight gain during pregnancy is a problem for many women. How much weight should you gain during your pregnancy is an important question that needs to be answered correctly and appropriately.

Normally you will gain about 26 to 28 pounds, but if you are expecting twins then you will gain around 35 to 40 pounds.

It all depends on how you plan your diet and most importantly what you have included in your diet. Make sure that healthy minerals and nutrients are a part of your diet. They will keep you fresh and healthy without gaining much weight.

Fresh and natural foods are necessary if you are expecting. Avoid eating packaged food. Packed foods increase your weight and store excess fat in your body which is harmful for you as well as your baby.

Next thing you should do in order to avoid too much weight gain is to eat throughout the day. Never leave your stomach empty; have snacks every 2-3 hours.

These snacks should be healthy and should provide you with all the nutrients that are required. Make sure that you are not taking any sort of unhealthy food as your snacks.

You will gain extra weight if you take unhealthy foods or junk food as your snacks. If you are going out, make sure that you carry your snacks with you. This will also avoid food cravings that you may develop due to which you may be tempted to turn to unhealthy foods.

The next thing you can do to control your weight is to divide your lunch and dinner plate. Your plate should equally contain proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and all nutrients that are necessary for your baby to develop.

Make sure that you eat in the right proportion. Do not overeat; if you do, you will feel nauseated and will also gain unnecessary weight.

You should combine all the food groups; never leave out a nutrient or a mineral as all of them are important in one way or the other for the baby’s development.

Each day you should eat three servings of dairy products, three to four servings of poultry dishes, six to seven dishes of whole grains, and about three to four servings of fruits and vegetables. Intake of fruits and vegetables is a must and you must make sure that you eat them daily as consulted by your doctor.

You should know how many calories your food contains; this way you will be able to watch your weight. Ask your doctor how many calories per day you require so that you do not overdo it with your caloric intake.

Also you should stay active during your pregnancy. Being inactive can also increase your weight. Make sure that you eat appropriately and correctly.

Eat all kinds of healthy foods and you should also exercise to stay healthy and to burn out excess fats if any. Focus on eating healthy and keeping your weight under control so that you do not face any complications in delivering your baby.

What are the best ways to remove Cellulite at home?

While cellulite can be very stubborn, you can remove cellulite with some lifestyle changes by exercising, having the right diet and also with some effective home cellulite treatment. Read on to find out more

Click HERE to Learn How You Can Remove Cellulite at Home

Are you one of 85% of women in the UK who suffer from Cellulite? If so it could be a seriously unwelcomed problem especially for women.

There are many factors that cause the on-set of cellulite. Those affected are continuously finding different ways to get rid of it with different cellulite removal processes or substances on the market that have varying results.

How does cellulite occur?

Cellulite is a condition where fat cells that get deposited under the skin gives it a dimpled appearance, making you look fat and lumpy. It often appears on specific areas of body such as abdomen, buttocks, upper arms, and thighs.

These areas of the body are prone to get bulky especially in the case of women. Once cellulite appears, you can feel tenderness, or tightness in these areas that may also sag sometimes.

There are various factors that influence the appearance of cellulite. The female hormones progesterone and oestrogen are considered to be the main causes.

Other factors include smoking, stress, obesity, pregnancy, lack of exercise, poor diet, rough harsh massages, fabric of clothing worn as well as genetics.

While cellulite can be very stubborn, you can get rid of cellulite with some lifestyle changes by exercising, having the right diet and also with some effective home cellulite treatment

Ways to remove Cellulite naturally

The chemicals we use in everyday life for your skin could help as of now but are slowly damaging your skin cells in the long term. You should avoid using them too frequently.

You should resort to different types of cellulite repairing measures which are not only natural and effective but best for your skin. These include:

·         Rubbing your skin with Body Scrubs with good base
·         Dry brush your body just before taking shower
·         Massage your body with Juniper oil
·         Consume gelatin containing foods
·         Have a detox bath

What are Coffee Scrubs?

Regular exfoliation of the skin, face and body can keep your skin blemish free and have you looking and feeling younger. Using Natural Body scrubs are known to be the best form of exfoliation.

More so Coffee scrubs are considered to be the most popular home remedies to remove cellulite. You just need to rub your skin with coarse coffee grounds and see them remove the dead skin cells to reveal the new, healthy skin underneath.

Besides this, the skin tightening effects of coffee will leave your sagging dimple skin smooth. While chemical exfoliates remove your skin cells with enzymes or acidic properties, exfoliating with coffee grounds improves circulation, giving your skin a firmer appearance.

All this is possible with the caffeine and antioxidants present in coffee that helps to release toxins. Not only is this effective at reducing the appearance of cellulite, but is good for healthy skin in general.

Spas often use coffee in connection with many other skin cleaning and therapeutic treatments. To remove cellulite, you can also make your own coffee scrub at home with 2-3 basic ingredients already lying around your kitchen.

All you need is 1/4 cup coffee grounds, 3 tablespoons sugar or brown sugar and 2-3 Tablespoons of melted coconut oil. Mix all these ingredients till it reaches a nice paste-like consistency.

Take this paste and massage onto areas of cellulite for several minutes by applying firm pressure. Once you are done, wash it off with water (warm water). Repeat this skin exfoliation process 2-3 times a week and keep doing for few weeks before you see the results.

You can also watch this Video HERE on how to prepare your own coffee scrub to remove cellulite at home.

If you feel making coffee scrub a tedious job, you can use the Body Blendz CoffeeScrub with additional ingredients like Macadamia oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, Sea salt and Extra Virgin olive oil which make cellulite removal even more effective.

How to Really Get LASTING Shin Pain Relief?

Click HERE to Learn How You Can STOP Shin Splints FOREVER FAST

In this article I’m going to reveal probably the most IMPORTANT piece of information on how to get lasting shin pain relief that you’ll ever encounter.

If you’re like most people who are struggling with shin splints, then you’ve probably tried one or two “conventional treatment techniques” like icing, rest, painkillers or stretching (If you’re like I used to be then you’ve tried all of them, and you’ve ended up FRUSTRATED as hell, and in pain over and over again). In other words, you didn’t get the lasting shin pain relief that you want.

I can remember when I used to use these techniques the same thing would happen every time... my shin splints would get better quickly, but as soon as I got back to physical activity or playing the sports I loved...
My shin splints would come back with a VENGEANCE!

It was frustrated to say the least, I felt like tearing my hair out! It was like nothing I did ever helped... the best I could hope for was temporary relief before the next painful flare up.

I remember thinking to myself, “I guess I’m just stuck with this and I’ll have to learn to deal with it”.

Let me tell you something...

THAT WAS ALL A LOAD OF BULLOCKS ... NO MATTER HOW SEVERE YOUR SHIN SPLINTS ARE OR HOW LONG YOU’VE HAD THEM YOU CAN GET RID OF THEM ONCE AND FOR ALL.

Really, lasting shin pain relief is possible!

I suffered from awful shin splints for nearly 10 years, and now they’re completely gone.

And there’s one KEY lesson that helped me go from feeling defeated and stuck with this painful condition to being free to enjoy playing the sports I love and pushing myself to my limit, without worrying about aggravating my shin splints. (Sound dramatic doesn’t it?)

And what was that lesson?

Here it is...

Conventional treatments like icing, rest and painkillers focus on treating the main SYMPTOM of shin splints, which is pain, but pain is NOT the enemy, it’s a desperate message from your body telling you that something is WRONG inside!

Let me say that again...

PAIN IS NOT THE ENEMY, IT’S A DESPERATE MESSAGE FROM YOUR BODY TELLING YOU THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG INSIDE!

And what exactly is wrong?

That’s a fantastic question...

There are several underlying causes of shin splints, but since we only have a little time together in this article, I’ll start by telling you one of the most common ones.

Weak or inflexible calves

One of the best things I’ve ever done is make friends with REALLY INTELLIGENT physiotherapists and podiatrists. As a matter of fact, most of the strategies and techniques I’ve learned, developed and write about originally started out as something I learned from them.

When I talked to them about shin splints, once common causes stood out and that’s weak or inflexible calves, if you’re calves feel tight, or get tired easily while you’re running chances are you’ve got this problem too.

So do some calf stretches and strengthening exercises. Do what it takes to correct this problem. It’s one of the main conditions that leads to shin splints.

There are several other common causes of shin splints... and I’ll talk about the others in a future article.

For now just remember, the key to EFFECTIVE SHIN SPLINT TREATMENT and LASTING SHIN PAIN RELIEF is to identify and treat the underlying causes of shin splints.

You may want to watch this Video HERE and this Video TOO to get more ideas for lasting shin pain relief.

And of course, the best place to start is with the eBook I’ve put together...
It took me years of trial and error to really figure out what works for treating shin splints.

Repeat: It took me YEARS.

Years of painstaking trial and error!

Every time I found something that DID work, I took the idea, refined it, used it on myself and my personal training clients, wrote it down... then refined it some more.

I collected and organized what I learned into my eBook, “Stop Shin Splints Forever”.

It contains the EXACT step-by-step method for treating and preventing shin splints that has helped hundreds of people get rid of this condition once and for all.

Go check out the details here: Stop Shin Splints Forever

How to Really Best Treat Shin Splints & Get LASTING Relief

Do You Want To Know How To Treat Shin Splints The Right Way? Read This Article And Learn A Little-Known Method That Will Get Lasting Relief from Shin Pain FAST...

Click HERE to Learn How You Can STOP Shin Splints FOREVER FAST

By Gary Buchenic

Surprisingly, it is easy to treat shin splints and get relief from the pain. Just rest for a few days and use a few simple pain relief techniques like icing or painkillers... and after 24-72 hours the pain will go away... problem solved, right?

Well, not quite... because next time you go for a run or play sports your pain comes back with a vengeance... and you’re back to square one... that’s the problem that none of the other so called “experts” are talking about...

You see, there’s thousands of websites on the internet that talk about how to get relief from shin splints but getting LASTING relief is what we’re really after...

With that in mind, here’s exactly how to treat shin splints “correctly” so you can finally get the lasting relief that you deserve...

Treat Shin Splints Step #1: Understand That Pain Is a Desperate Message From Your Body Telling You Something Is WRONG

Note: Consistent and dull pain like the pain you feel after a good workout at the gym can be ok... but if your pain is sharp and comes on suddenly as is often the case with shin splints, then it’s time to stop whatever activity you’re doing...

The first step to curing shin splints is to simply understand that pain is not the enemy...

In fact, it’s your body’s way of warning you that something is wrong. Now, we’ve ALL been in that place where we’ve just wished the pain would go away already...

But if we’d just stop and listen to our bodies for a moment we’d realize that the pain we're experiencing is trying to give us a valuable message...

In the case of shin splints, the pain is trying to alert you to specific underlying problems that are causing the muscles, tendons and ligaments around your shin bone to tear away from the bone...

This brings us to...

Treat Shin Splints Step #2: Identify the “Underlying Causes” Of Your Shin Splints That Are Keeping You in Pain

Without underlying causes, your body’s central nervous system has NO REASON of sending out pain signals.

And after spending years helping hundreds of athletes treat shin splints... and talking to literally dozens of physiotherapists, podiatrists, coaches and personal trainers... I can tell you that there are 4 main problems that are keeping you in pain...

Overload:

Biomechanical Imbalances:

Poor Running Form:

Bad or Inappropriate Running Shoes:

If you have shin splints it’s not a matter of whether you have one of these problems, it’s a matter of which ones and how many...

Identifying which of these problems is causing your shin splints and treating them directly, is what effective shin splints treatment is all about.

Treat Shin Splints Step #3: Treat the Underlying Causes That Are Keeping You In Pain

They key to how to treat shin splints “right” is treating the underlying causes of your shin splints, and correcting them.

But the sad truth is, most shin splint sufferer’s end up losing hope after the generic shin splint treatment advice that they see everywhere else fails them...

Instead of just realizing that they need to try a different approach that’s a bit more tailored to suit their body’s specific problems, they give up... But trust me on this one... if you treat your shin splints the “right” way, you WILL SIMPLY NOT BELIEVE how well your body will respond.

It will seem like you’re suddenly employing some sort of “voodoo” magic.

But If you continue to use “pain relief techniques like icing and painkillers and you DON’T address these “underlying problems”, you’ll continue to experience painful, reoccurring shin splints that just won’t go away... at least, not in the long term.

However, when you DO treat the underlying causes, the techniques I’ll teach you will be 10X as effective and the results will be permanent.

The best way to get this handled is through reading my best-selling eBook, “Stop Shin Splints Forever.” Download it here, and let me know how it goes...

You can click on this Video HERE to get more ideas on how to treat shin splints the right way.

Do You Want To Know How To Stop Shin Splints Forever? Read This Article And Learn A Little-Known Method That Will Get Rid Of Your Shin Splints FAST...

First, I’d like to tell you a story that you might find strangely familiar. Don’t be alarmed.

Once upon a time, there was a man who had horrible shin splints.
He rested them, and iced them… and did all the “right” things to get rid of his shin splints, and low and behold...

His pain went away, but there was one problem…
Even though his pain went away, it also came back as soon as he got active again.

Why?

After all, he was doing everything his doctor’s and coaches were telling him to do.

He was tired of shin splints holding him back from performing at his peak and keeping him in pain… but nothing he tried gave him anything more than temporary relief.

Something was wrong with the picture

The pain seemed to get worse as the weeks and months went by.
This frustrated the man more.

Did it mean that his shins were just screwed up, and he had to learn to deal with it?

Did it mean that he should just get used to “pushing through the pain”?
Did it mean that he had to spend a small fortune on custom orthotics to fix his problem?

He had to do something… so he iced his shins regularly, got new shoes… and bought those overpriced orthotics.

And then the unthinkable happened…
His shin splints came back once again.

Over the following months, the man kept trying to get lasting relief by following all the “conventional” treatment advice he’d heard in the past… and what happened?

THE SAME THING THAT HAPPENED EVERY TIME.

More pain and frustration!

OK, I’m back.

Enthralling, huh?

Maybe I should keep my day job, and not take up writing novels…
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this is a story that you can RELATE to.

Why?

Because if you’re like most shin splint sufferers then you’ve been there in one way or another… and many of us have been there for a LONG time.

Thankfully, there is a solution to this particular situation, and it lies in understanding a secret that most shin splint sufferers DON’T KNOW.

The secret is that most shin splint treatments – such as rest, ice and anti-inflammatories simply treat the SYMPTOMS of shin splints and DON’T stop shin splints.

In other words, they DON’T fix the problem, they cover-up the problem, and most of the time they make things WORSE, because they’ll relieve your pain, allowing you to get back to the activity that aggravated you’re shins in the first place, which can cause MORE damage to the delicate tendons and ligaments in your feet!

So, don’t mistake pain-relief for treatment!

That’s not to say that pain-relief techniques don’t have their place, because they certainly do!

But only one of the five specific causes of shin splints can be treated by pain relief techniques... the rest require more specific treatments.

For example, one of the most common causes of shin splints is flat feet or weak or collapsed arches in one or both of your feet - and many people with flat feet don’t even realize they have this problem

But if you do, and you fail to address you’re flat feet or collapsed arches with good quality shoe liners or orthotics - then no matter how much you rest or you ice your shins, you can’t stop shin splints and your pain is practically guaranteed to come back!

In my eBook Stop Shin Splints Forever, I show you how to identify what’s causing your shin splints, and treat the REAL problem, not just the symptom… by following a quick self-diagnosis process that anyone can do in 15 minutes you’ll learn which of the 5 causes of shin splints are causing your shin splints and how to get rid of them… FOR GOOD!

If you want to know EXACTLY how to stop your shin splints once and for all and get back to enjoying the sports you love, go check out my eBook right now.

It took me a long time to figure this stuff out, and it turns out what you need to do to get rid of shin splints permanently is exactly OPPOSITE to what most “mainstream” shin splints treatment advice says you should do. Find out the solution in my eBook right here: Stop Shin Splints Forever

How to Get Rid Of Shin Splints in 3 Easy Steps?

Click HERE to Learn How You Can STOP Shin Splints FOREVER FAST

Do You Want To Know How To Get Rid Of Shin Splints Forever? Read This Article And Learn A Little-Known Method That Will Get Rid Of Your Shin Splints FAST...

Know what?

I struggled with shin splints for NINE YEARS...

Every treatment technique I tried seemed to give me nothing more than temporary relief... then the next time I’d go for a run the pain would come back, many times I wondered if I’d have to struggle with this condition for the rest of my life.

And, this drove me NUTS.

My shin pain were so bad at times that I could hardly walk... and I can’t tell you how many times I had to miss out on going for one of a morning jog (I love these) or playing soccer on a Tuesday night with my buddies because the pain was too severe...

But I’m here to tell you, that it doesn’t have to be like this for you!
Through a TON of trial and error, I’ve now figured out a method that’s literally guaranteed to get rid of shin splints FOREVER. And I want to teach it to you right now.

Here’s how it works to get rid of shin splint:

Identify the Causes of Your Pain

It’s important to understand that shin splints is a “gutter” term that refers to a variety of different conditions and pathologies that lead to pain in the lower half of the  (tibia) shinbone.

Over the years I’ve found that there are four primary underlying causes that are directly responsible for, or contribute to, nearly every single case of shin splints.

And you will be able to easily identify them using the simple tests I show you inside my eBook “Stop Shin Splints Forever

Once you’ve identified which of the underlying causes” you have, it’s time for step two.

Treat the Symptoms

You can’t correct the underlying problems if your pain is so severe you can’t move. So in this step you’ll implement various strategies to help reduce and eliminate your pain so you can focus on correcting the underlying problems that are responsible for it.

Then you’re on to step three, which is...

Treat the Causes and Condition

Remember, pain is just a warning signal from your body telling you that you need to fix a problem. So in this step you work on treating the cause, which is the conditions and underlying problems you identified in the first step.

Realize that beginning any treatment without identifying what’s really causing your pain is a recipe for failure and frustration.

If you continue using generic, one-size fits all, “conventional” shin splints treatment techniques, you may NEVER address the real causes of your pain and stay stuck with this condition for years.

And if you keep exercising or playing the sports that likely CAUSED these underlying problems in the first place, you risk making your condition even worse – or doing PERMANENT damage.

Are you with me?

So use this approach to get rid of shin splints once and for all. Get started today!

I’m here to help you make it happen... in my eBook Stop Shin Splints Forever, I show you in GREAT detail how to identify what’s really causing your pain... In fact, I consider this section where I talk about these things to be the MOST important part of the WHOLE book.

Why?

Because unless you figure out EXACTLY what’s causing your shin splints – any treatment techniques you use won’t be nearly as effective as they could be.

And when you DO identify the causes, the treatment techniques I teach you for addressing each of these specific causes will be 10 times as powerful...

The best way to get it handled is through reading my book, so grab a copy and see for yourself – just Click HERE: Stop Shin Splints Forever

By Gary Buchenic

Let’s set the record straight once and for all... Trying to cure shin splints isn’t always easy, but it can be quick if you do a few simple things right.

If you think this article is just going to be about icing techniques or new shoes or anything remotely close to the generic shin splints treatment advice you read about every else, then you’re in for a shock.

Pain relief techniques like icing are an important part of this three step process, but they’re not the only part and in this article I’m going to show the “broad strokes” of what it really takes to cure shin splints once and for all.

Let’s get into it...

Cure Shin Splints - Step 1: Find out What’s Causing Your Shin Splints

Yes, most people who ask me how they can cure shin splints, have a problem. They have no idea what’s causing them in the first place!

The truth is shin splints is a “gutter term” that refers to pain along the shinbone or tibia, but this pain can be caused by a multitude of different pathologies and conditions, and it’s downright insane to start following some generic treatment program if you have no idea what’s actually causing your shin splints.

So what exactly is causing your shin splints? I’m glad you asked...
Overload: Simply put this means exercising too much, too soon or with too much intensity, exercising on hard or uneven surfaces can also cause overload.

Biomechanical Imbalances: There are three main biomechanical imbalances that shin splint sufferer commonly have... weak calves, weak or inactive glutes and flat feet

Poor Running Form: do you have bad running form? If you’re like most people with shin splints chances are you do, and it’s keeping you in pain!

Poor Running Shoes: Finding the perfect pair of shoes for your feet can be as hard as finding the perfect life partner.

A good tip is to visit a specialty running store with a worn pair of shoes, the people that work there can tell a LOT about your foot type  from looking at the wear pattern on a used shoe - and they’ll be able to use this information to match you with a great shoe that suits your specific foot type.

Think about it this way; even if you ice your shins religiously, take painkillers every time you’re active and rest for days on end... if you’ve got bad running form, poor or inappropriate running shoes or one or more of the biomechanical imbalances, you’re shin splints are practically guaranteed to come back with a vengeance!

Unless you find out what’s actually causing them, and treat that directly!

Cure Shin Splints - Step 2: Treat the Pain

Now that you’ve identified what’s causing your pain it’s time to treat it. Rest, ice and painkillers are great for doing this. (But you already knew that anyway)

Just do your body a favour and don’t take painkillers for any more than 2 weeks, and preferably no more than 3 days.

Painkillers like Advil and Ibuprofen are classed as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID’S) and long-term use of them has been linked with everything from digestive problems to stroke.

If you have long term pain and want a good alternative Google a product called “ Heal-n-Soothe ” which is a safe and natural alternative that I highly recommend!

Cure Shin Splints - 3. Treat the Underlying Causes Of Y our Pain

It should go without saying that after you’ve identified what’s causing your pain, you’ll take action to correct those underlying causes. For example, if you identify that you have worn out running shoes and inflexible calves you’ll stretch you’re calves and get a good pair of shoes that match your foot type.

If you realize that you’ve been increasing you’re training volume very quickly and that you’ve got flat feet or collapsed arches... then you’ll step back you’re training volume and go and get appropriate shoes with good arch support and shoe inserts.

There you have it. Now you know the proper way to get rid of shin splints - all you need to do is follow these three simple steps and your pain will disappear.
