Type 2 Diabetes Caused by this “Night Habit” (Weird but Serious)

Type 2 diabetes is becoming increasingly common. So, unsurprisingly, are many of the factors that cause it.

In fact, one of the best-established causes is not something you would expect can contribute to type 2 diabetes.

It has nothing to do with unhealthy food, lack of exercise, obesity, or heart health. It is something that occurs almost exclusively at night.

Numerous reports published in academic journals prove that insomnia interferes with glucose metabolism and could cause type-2 diabetes.

The first studies that found that sleep deprivation led to an increase in blood glucose levels were published in the 1960s and 1970s. They were criticized for restricting the subject’s sleep to only four hours, which is less than the amount that most insomniacs sleep.

Moreover, many experts disputed that such studies in an artificial laboratory setting can be generalized to the real world, but their conclusions from the study, namely that sleep deprivation reduced glucose sensitivity by as much as 40 percent, made a valuable contribution to the subject.

A 2007 report in the journal Sleep took results from the first National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey between 1982 and 1992 and calculated that people who slept five hours or less were more likely to develop type-2 diabetes than normal sleepers were.

This study was scientifically quite thorough, and had the medical details of over 9,000 subjects, allowing them to rule out obesity, physical activity levels, alcohol use, depression, and a whole range of other factors that could have caused diabetes. After ruling out all other factors, they concluded that it was definitely insomnia that was the cause of it.

Similar studies with equally good scientific controls have been conducted on:

– 2,649 Japanese men for eight years (published in Diabetes Care in 2004),
– 6,599 non-diabetic Swedish men for approximately fifteen years (published in
Diabetes Care in 2005),
– 4,140 and 4,129 non-diabetic German men and women (published in
Diabetologia in 2005)
– and many more…

Therefore, the thesis that insomnia causes type 2 diabetes seems quite well established. If you sleep five hours or less on average, you have a larger risk of losing control over your blood glucose and developing type-2 diabetes.

But why does this happen?

Your night’s sleep can be divided into five stages: sleep stages one and two are light sleep, stages three and four are deep sleep, and stage five is REM sleep during which you dream. You get most of your important restorative sleep during the deep sleep stages of three and four.

Glucose metabolism is slower during deep sleep because your brain needs and uses very little energy. Insomniacs lack this sleep. Their bodies demand energy almost 24 hours a day, so their blood glucose must be maintained, and their pancreases must continue to secrete insulin.

Remember that type-2 diabetes occurs when your blood glucose level and your insulin secretion are consistently high enough that your body loses its sensitivity to insulin. If blood glucose and insulin secretion never dropped, as is the case with insomniacs, it is not surprising that insulin insensitivity follows.

Other hormones responsible for increased blood glucose are also secreted in larger amounts if deep sleep is lacking, such as growth hormone and cortisol.

If you have trouble sleeping, here is an easy method that puts you into a deep sleep in 10 minutes and keeps you sleeping throughout the night…

This Wonderful Fruit Can Help You to Treat Diabetes Without Medication

Common Berries Heal High Blood Pressure and Diabetes

Native to parts of Europe and Asia are beautiful shrubs that bear dark purple berries.

The deeply pigmented berries from these shrubs boast chart-topping levels of health-promoting phytonutrients, such as anthocyanins, flavonols, and phenolic acids.

These compounds protect the plant from pests and parasites and give protective properties, which include antioxidants, antimicrobials, and anti-inflammatory activity to those who consume them.

But the most important thing for us would be that these berries can heal both high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.

In addition to the antioxidant properties, blackcurrant seeds are famous for their high levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids, notably the essential fatty acid gamma linolenic acid, or GLA. Blackcurrant has been used in traditional herbal medicine to treat a wide range of health conditions, including high blood pressure and diabetes.

Recently, scientific studies have found evidence confirming these health claims.

Blood Pressure-Lowering

A number of researchers have been particularly interested in the potential of blackcurrants and other high-phytonutrient berries as a therapeutic option for high blood pressure and other cardiovascular diseases.

A study that included women between the ages of 18 and 75 years found that participants who consumed higher levels of anthocyanins and flavones – an amount equivalent to 1-2 portions of berries daily – was found to have suppler arteries and significantly lower blood pressure.

Certain compounds contained in blackcurrants have been found to lower blood pressure through exerting their effects on the blood pressure regulating system in the kidneys, which is known as the renin-angiotensin system.

These compounds inhibit an enzyme that fuels signalling pathways that lead to increased blood pressure.

In a clinical trial, researchers enriched commercially available mixed berries juices with blackcurrant extract and found that the enriched juice produced significant blood pressure-lowering effects, and there was an even more pronounced benefit occurring in participants with hypertension when they were compared to their normal blood pressure cohorts.
Furthermore, the blackcurrant-enriched juice reduced blood pressure variability, making it more stable.

Furthermore, in a study that measured blood pressure spikes in response to psychological stress among volunteers that had reactive hypertension, blackcurrant seed oil received high marks for blood pressure-lowering benefits. Reactive hypertension is a form of high blood pressure in which patients are susceptible to rapid and dangerous increases in blood pressure when they experience anxiety or stress.

Researchers reported that blackcurrant seed oil inhibited blood pressure reactivity by more than 40%. The berry extract also produced a significant overall drop in diastolic blood pressure – the lower number of the blood pressure ratio signified the pressure in the arteries in between beats when the heart is relaxed.

Diabetes Management

A number of laboratory studies have revealed the potential benefits of blackcurrants for the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes.
In a study on mice, blackcurrant extract reduced obesity-associated inflammation. Over time, these low-grade, chronic inflammations can trigger metabolic disturbances that lead to impaired blood sugar control.

When treated with blackcurrant extract, the mice displayed lower levels of key inflammatory markers, lower blood glucose levels, and lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels – all of which were important predictors of diabetes risk. Researchers concluded that blackcurrant consumption might, therefore, help counteract the detrimental effects of high-fat and high-cholesterol diets.

A compound in blackcurrant called cyanidin-3-rutinoside (C3R) showed potential anti-diabetes effects by inhibiting carbohydrate-digesting enzymes, thereby limiting the digestion of carbohydrates.

Researchers of one study concluded that C3R might be useful in the prevention of high post-meal blood sugar spikes that characterize type 2 diabetes. The same benefits of C3R might also occur in people with some forms of insulin-resistance and pre-diabetes, which could possibly be used to help those individuals avoid developing the disease.

How Homes Cause Type 2 Diabetes and Obesity

The new edition of the journal Environmental Health Perspectives has just published an alarming study that shows why obesity and diabetes are becoming so common in the 21st century.

And why diets and exercises don’t seem to make a big difference.

While sugar and fats are normally blamed for these epidemics, a new study has shown that DBT may actually be the real devil when it comes to accumulating belly fat.

And unfortunately, DBT is all around us.

DBT (Dibutyltin) is a chemical commonly used in the production of polyvinyl chloride, also known as PVC, or simply vinyl plastics.

It is often used for the construction of window frames, indoor water and sewerage pipes, gutters and downspouts, flooring, ceiling tiles, wall coverings, and for the insulation around electrical cables.

In fact, since it is a cheaper alternative to rubber and leather, it is also used for water-resistant clothing and apparels such as raincoats, jackets, shoes, backpacks, shower curtains, fake leather upholstery, and tarpaulins.

This means that it is all around us, including within the very construction material used for our homes. If you were to ask your builder to build your house without it, he or she will promptly walk off from the job!

The new study, performed on mice, shows that DBT may be responsible for obesity and diabetes.

The scientists first applied DBT directly to cells in a dish, demonstrating that it activated two proteins that rapidly built fat cells from available cellular building blocks.

This not only led to an increase in the number of fat cells, but also to the amount of fat that each cell carried.

They made sure that they did not use DBT than what humans were typically exposed to.

They then gave the DBT directly to mice in their drinking water, after which the mice put on a lot more weight than the control group of mice did.

They also noticed that the DBT group displayed higher blood fasting glucose and there was a change in the way their pancreases produced insulin, which put them at risk of diabetes.

When they gave the DBT to pregnant mice and to mice that were breastfeeding, they noticed that the male offsprings put on more weight than those who were not exposed to it despite the fat in their diets being increased.

If this is true for humans too, then another explanation for the alarmingly high rates of obesity and diabetes in the 21st century would have emerged.

While the DBT in your house and possessions probably emit particles for you to ingest only when it is heated or otherwise damaged, it does get into our food supply through many other means.

For example, since it is the second most common plastic behind only polyethylene, millions of tons of it must be disposed of somehow annually.

Much of it ends up in our soil through landfills, and in our rivers and oceans through inappropriate disposal.

If cows and fish eat these particles and our plant and food contain them, we would obviously ingest a fair amount of it.

Unfortunately, there appears to be very little we can do about this in the short run. But there is something you can do today about overweight and type 2 diabetes.

Here is the simplest way I know that will let you shed off extra weight, using what I call “the third element of weight loss” (first and second being diet and exercises)…

And here are the 3 steps thousands of readers have used to reverse their type 2 diabetes in 28 days or less…

The Harsh Arthritis and Diabetes Connection

Around a third of those with type 2 diabetes also suffer arthritis.
This is not surprising, as both diseases are rooted in chronic inflammation.

But according to a new study published in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, having both diseases don’t just double the trouble. It multiplies it and makes it a lot harder to tackle either one disease.

Thankfully, there is one simple thing that can help drastically improve both conditions.

Researchers used data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys from 2009 to 2016 and examined the prevalence of arthritis among Americans with prediabetes.

Watch this video – Preventing pre-diabetes

They also checked the physical activity levels of people with both these conditions to find out how much of a problem exercise could pose.

This is not just important because people with prediabetes need to exercise, but also because people with arthritis need to exercise to keep their joints functional and to maintain a healthy weight to let their joints carry.

In general, 32% or 26 million Americans with prediabetes also have arthritis.

In people with both these conditions, 56.5% are almost completely physically inactive, and 50.1% of them are obese.

When they took into account those who were mostly inactive and overweight (not just obese), the statistics sounded even worse.

Thus, if you suffer from type-2 diabetes, arthritis or both, and especially if you’re overweight or obese, it’s very important that you start some form of activity as soon as possible.

Light swimming, walking, or biking may not put much strain on your joints but will work wonders in improving your health.

Even better, here are 3-easy steps that completely reverse type 2 diabetes in 28 days or less…

Does This Supplement Help You to Control & Treat Type 2 Diabetes?

A new supplement called Ubiquinol has been gaining a huge amount of popularity in recent years and is now being sold in most health food stores.

This supplement has been claimed to be of help with a variety of serious diseases, such as dementia, cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes.
However, until now, very few scientific studies have been done to test the real effect of it.

This all changed with a new study that was published by the British Journal of Nutrition where Taiwanese scientists put this supplement to the test on 50 type 2 diabetic subjects.

Before moving to the studies, a quick explanation would be necessary.
Enzymes are molecules in your body that, should it be missing, almost no chemical reactions can occur. Without them, your body will be a lot less productive at doing…well, absolutely everything.

However, for enzymes to work, they need co-enzymes to pair with. One of the most important coenzymes is called Coenzyme Q10, or more briefly known as CoQ10.

Your body produces this naturally and it is essential for the creation of cell energy. In other words, all your organs would work with more productively if they had plenty of CoQ10.

That is why CoQ10 has become one of the most popular supplements, especially since your body produces lesser amounts of it as you age.

However, since your body converts CoQ10 to a more advanced and productive form called ubiquinol, supplement manufacturers have now started making to make ubiquinol directly.

In this new research, scientists divided their 50 type 2 diabetic subjects into two groups:

– the first group received 33mg of ubiquinol three times a day.
– the second received a fake tablet (placebo) on the same schedule.

They collected blood samples throughout the study to test their participant’s blood glucose, insulin levels, cholesterol, and antioxidant activity.

After 12 weeks, they found that the ubiquinol group had lower Hemoglobin A1c levels when compared to the placebo group, meaning that their average levels of blood sugar (glucose) were lower over that period.

They also found that the ubiquinol group had a slightly lower level of fasting glucose than the placebo group.

While oxidative stress was not found to be lower in the ubiquinol group, they were found to have antioxidants that are more active in their bodies than the placebo group, along with lower insulin resistance, and lower insulin levels.

Many of the diabetic participants could even give up their diabetes medication.

The ubiquinol group also had higher HDL cholesterol, suggesting that ubiquinol helped to keep this healthier type of cholesterol at optimum levels.

This study thus seems promising. Therefore, it might be worth the effort to hopscotch your way to your local health food store and try ubiquinol out for 12 weeks or so.

Why Losing Weight May Not Help You to Control & Treat Type 2 Diabetes?

When Losing Weight Causes Type 2 Diabetes

To control & treat type 2 diabetes, - watch this video - The perfect treatment for diabetes and weight loss

Being overweight is considered to be the #1 cause of type 2 diabetes. And the first thing any good doctor will recommend would be to lose body fat.

But a new study published in the latest Journal of Physiology revealed that one of the most effective weight loss method actually causes type 2 diabetes.

Swiss scientists divided mice into 2 groups: one group that are a diet that was high in both fat and carbohydrates, while the other group ate a diet that was only high in fat.

The latter was a replica of the popular Keto Diet.

Their tests found that even though mice on the Keto diet appeared healthy while in a fasting state, they actually displayed decreased glucose tolerance when compared with the high-fat, high-carbohydrates group.

After investigating further, they discovered that the livers of the Keto mice did not respond as well to insulin as they should have.

This is a state called insulin resistance, a major risk factor for diabetes.
Therefore, even if Keto is somewhat effective to lose weight (at least in the short run), it may be ruining your liver and causing type 2 diabetes.

A better approach to lose weight is what I call “the third element of weight loss”. It requires no diet or exercises, just a simple technique that can be found here…

And if you already suffer type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, consider these 3 steps that thousands of readers have used to reverse their diabetes in 28 days or less…
