Some weird results about the side effects of having high HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol), came out of a study recently published in the journal Prostate Cancer and Prostatic Diseases.

Apparently, improving your cholesterol level by having high HDL cholesterol can drastically increase your risk of one of the most common, serious cancers out there.

The American and Irish scientists conducting the study were at a loss as to why this happened. But as usual, we natural researchers understand it better.

Prostate cancer is ranked on a scale called the Gleason scale. If your prostate tissue looks like normal tissue, it is ranked as one, and if it looks extremely abnormal, it is ranked as five.

After performing biopsies from different parts of the prostate, the doctor adds those scores together for a Gleason score of, for example, “4 + 3 = 7”.

A score of below six is normal, six is low-grade and not terribly serious, seven is moderately cancerous, and eight to ten is high-grade and therefore very serious.

The new study analyzed the medical information of 4,974 men collected by a previous study called REDUCE.

The men in the REDUCE study had their cholesterol tested right at the beginning. They were also given biopsies after two years and after four years.

Interestingly, it wasn’t raising the LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) that increased the cancer risk but raising the high HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol).

In this study, each additional 10 milligrams of cholesterol per deciliter of blood (10 mg/dl) increased the men’s high-grade cancer risk by 5%, while every 10 mg/dl increase in their HDL cholesterol spiked this risk by 14%.

Like other studies, this again suggests that you should not try to aim for high HDL cholesterol artificially using medications. Instead, try to balance your cholesterol diet with good food and lifestyle changes.

This post is from the Oxidized Cholesterol Strategy Program created by Scott Davis. He once suffered from High Cholesterol so much that he even had a severe heart attack. This is what essentially led him to finding healthier alternatives to conventional medication.

The program is highly focused on eliminating one simple ingredient you consume every single day, an ingredient you had no idea you were even putting it your body.  What’s scary is that this ingredient isn’t even listed on the label of many common food choices. It’s terrifying stuff! So, this system starts you off with valuable information about this one simple ingredient, what it’s doing to your body and what you can do about it. But it doesn’t end there.

The Oxidized Cholesterol Strategy goes on to teach you a wide range of diet, fitness, lifestyle, exercise, sleep and eating tips that will help you maximize your results. More importantly, these tips will help completely clean out any plaque build-up in your arteries.

What Does a New Study Reveal that Can Help You to Lower High Cholesterol?

A recent study published in the European Journal of Lipid Science and Technology reveals a “new type” of salt that eliminates the bad effects of high cholesterol.

Even better, you have everything at home or in your local supermarket to make this “new type” of salt that can help you to lower high cholesterol.

And with that, you don’t even have to worry if your cholesterol is high or low.

Cholesterol is mainly unhealthy because it is easily oxidized (or you could say goes rancid) in your body.

Your immune system is incapable of removing this rancid fat from your blood vessels, which causes it to lodge in your arterial walls where this hardening fat and the inflammation that accompanies it do a lot of damage.

Researchers have just conducted a new study on sea salt mixed with Mediterranean herbs and fruit as a way to prevent oxidation of cholesterol.

They did not do their study on people, because they did not think they could obtain sufficiently detailed information on cholesterol inside the body.

Instead, they applied normal salt and the sea salt mixture to cholesterol cells in the laboratory to see which was capable of preventing cholesterol oxidation.

Salt is known as an antioxidant, which is why so many food manufacturers load their foods with it.

The sea salt flavored with myrtle, rosemary, and a mixture of other herbs was much better at preventing cholesterol oxidation than the normal salt was.

If you want to lower high cholesterol without medication, you can easily make this mixture at home. Just blend a normal sea salt (or Himalayan salt) with some rosemary and myrtle spices. You don’t have to worry about the quantity, just whatever your taste butts like.

Even more importantly, finally scientists are catching up on the real problem of cholesterol and your heart.

Why Losing Weight Quickly Can Cause Heart Problem?

Being overweight often goes hand in hand with high cholesterol, blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and other health issues. So, losing weight quickly should improve all those factors, right? Being overweight often goes hand in hand with high cholesterol, blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and other health issues.

So, losing weight quickly should improve all those factors, right?

What Can Be the Side Effects of Losing Weight Quickly on Your Heart?

Most often, but not always, says a new study reported at the CMR (Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance) conference at the beginning of 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.

But this study also revealed the amazing benefits of a very controversial diet for all health issues.

They recruited 21 obese people with an average body mass index of 37 kg/m2 and an average age of 52.

They were given a low-calorie diet of 600-800 calories per day for eight weeks.

The researchers did a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan at the beginning and at the end of the study, as well as after one week of dieting.

After one week, the MRI showed a 6% drop in total body fat, an 11% drop in visceral fat, and a 42% drop in liver fat, together with substantial improvements in cholesterol, blood pressure, and insulin resistance.

So far, so good, but the problem?

Heart fat content had also risen by 44% and was accompanied by a loss in heart function.

By eight weeks, the body fat, visceral fat, and liver fat had dropped even further, and the other improvements had continued too.

By that time, their heart fat content had also dropped to levels below their pre-diet levels, and their heart’s function had improved to better levels than before the diets.

This is all good news, except for the loss in heart function after one week of dieting, which is quite alarming.

The scientists speculated that it was caused by fat being released from other parts of their bodies into their blood streams, from where their heart muscles received it together with the blood.

Their bodies obviously adjusted to the shock after a while and their heart muscles stopped accumulating the fat for energy, which immediately improved the situation.

But because of this temporary effect from losing weight quickly, the scientists discouraged people with heart problems or cardiovascular risk factors from embarking on crash diets.

The big problem, of course, is that most of the people who are aiming for losing weight quickly have cardiovascular risks like high blood pressure, cholesterol, and so forth.

One possible solution is to work your way slowly into a very low calorie diet by, for example, dropping your calorie intake slowly for two or three weeks before reaching 600-800 daily calories.

Why High Cholesterol is Responsible for This Deadly Cancer?

High Cholesterol Causes This Deadly Cancer

High cholesterol has mostly (and controversially) been linked to heart attack and stroke.

But a new study, published in the journal Cell Stem Cell, proves it can actually cause something much worse.

That is, the second most deadly type of cancer, only behind lung cancer in the number of people it kills. It spreads easily to lymph nodes and surrounding muscle tissue if not picked up early enough.

What Can Be The Effects of High Cholesterol Level on Your Digestive System?

Cholesterol is particularly abundant in cancer cells and many studies have indicated that high cholesterol may contribute to the development of intestinal cancers.

But why does this happen?

To find out, the researchers first gave a group of mice a high cholesterol diet to elevate their cholesterol.

After doing this successfully, they examined cell activity in the mice’s intestines, noticing that stem cells divided and multiplied so fast that tumors could form 100 times faster than in the intestines of mice with normal cholesterol.

In a second group of mice, they modified a gene that regulates phospholipids, the main type of fat in cell membranes, so that cells would produce an excessive amount of cholesterol on their own.

As this group’s cells made more cholesterol and their cholesterol rose, the stem cells in their intestines also multiplied much faster.

In both groups, the linings of their digestive tracts thickened and their intestines actually grew longer to accommodate the excessive cell growth.
This caused the formation of cancerous tumors in their intestines and colons as a result of the high cholesterol level.

7 Antioxidant Anti-Inflammatory Foods That Boost Your Health

Type 2 diabetes, plaque build-up in arteries (causing stroke and heart attack), arthritis, many cancers, high blood pressure, and even obesity could all be avoided if your body didn’t suffer inflammation and oxidation. That’s why it’s so important to include antioxidant and anti-inflammatory foods in your diet. Now, I’m going to reveal to you the most powerful antioxidant anti-inflammatory foods I know that will boost your health.

Almost all modern diseases are completely or partly caused by inflammation and oxidation.

The good news… in today’s article I’m going to reveal the most powerful antioxidant anti-inflammatory foods I know. And you can find all of them (usually dirt cheap) in your local supermarket or health food store.

Antioxidant Anti-Inflammatory Foods #1 - Sauerkraut:

With a name that wants you to lick your lips, this fermented cabbage treat is not only a powerhouse of vitamins but also full of live cultures that help cure stomach illness. Go for homemade, organic, or pure sauerkraut for best results.

Antioxidant Anti-Inflammatory Foods #2 - Kefir:

Kefir is a tangy, protein-rich fermented beverage with a host of probiotic bacteria to delight your gut microbes. Even for those who have lactose intolerance, kefir is available in mixtures of water or coconut water instead of milk.

Antioxidant Anti-Inflammatory Foods #3 - Pickles:

The fermented ones, instead of the vinegar-based pickles are the real deal. The fermented variety has beneficial bacteria but make sure that the pickle does not contain artificial color, flavor or additives.

Antioxidant Anti-Inflammatory Foods #4 - Greek yogurt:

Fermented milk products like kefir might not be for everyone, but yogurt is a simple and delicious choice for most people. Milk and live yogurt cultures should ideally be the only ingredients in Greek yogurt for best benefits.

Antioxidant Anti-Inflammatory Foods #5 - Kimchi:

Kimchi might not be as well-known as sauerkraut but its benefits are even more powerful, considering that it has the added benefits of garlic, ginger and scallions, apart from live culture.

Antioxidant Anti-Inflammatory Foods #6 - Kombucha:

This famous Chinese fermented drink is known to boost energy levels, help in weight loss, and overall wellbeing. It is made by fermenting sweetened black tea with yeast and bacteria.

Antioxidant Anti-Inflammatory Foods #7 - Miso:

A paste made of fermented soybeans, salt and a type of fungus called kojikin, this Japanese delicacy can be added to soups or stews to get its benefits.
