Keep Colon Healthy - CONSTIPATED NATION NEEDS ALOE VERA

With colon cancer rapidly becoming one of the main health problems affecting many older Americans, many people are now taking colon cleansing and regularity much more seriously.

The modern American’s diet rich in refined and processed foods and lacking in adequate amounts of roughage has led to a constipated nation stewing in their own toxins.

A compacted colon prevents the body from properly eliminating toxins and wastes, which leads to cancer as well as bad breath, body odor and irritable bowels.

A person with a healthy colon should have regular bowel movements at least once, if not twice a day. The stools should pass quickly with minimal effort on your part and if you end up reading an entire magazine before you are done, you might want to consider colon cleansing to help achieve a healthier colon.

If you want to keep colon healthy, watch this video – 9 Home Remedies for Natural Colon Cleansing

To keep colon healthy, one way to achieve this is to cleanse the colon is to get an enema, but let’s face it, an enema is just not something that everyone is willing to do. Many medical professionals are now suggesting that people try using an Aloe Vera gel cleanser to help naturally wash out the bowels and maintain a healthy digestive system.

Another way to keep colon healthy is to use of Aloe Vera as a bodily cleanser, which is not a new thing that modern science has just discovered. In fact, Aloe Vera has been used for centuries for this exact purpose, even being described in Ancient Sumerian and Egyptian texts.

The gel of the Aloe Vera plant contains polysaccharides, which are long chain sugars that help fight bacteria within the abdominal wall and help repair the tissues of the colon.

Aloe Vera is also really high in natural fibers, which helps regulate the system and encourage healthy bowel movements. The vitamins and minerals within Aloe Vera also help eliminate the gunk that sticks to the walls of the intestine encouraging further waste elimination. The soothing compounds within the Aloe Vera gel have also been proven to help relieve irritable bowel syndrome and indigestion.

Many Americans are now turning to Aloe Vera Gel as a safe and natural way to cleanse a colon. The side effects are usually minimal since the plant does not seem to contain anything remotely bad in it and the results are usually favorable.

Many nature-based health food companies now have Aloe Vera gel capsules available specifically for colon cleansing available at your local health food store.

However, it is important to be a savvy buyer and to read up on each company to make sure that they are providing a safe and effective product.

Many people also keep a live Aloe Vera plant around their homes, harvesting the inner gel themselves to aid in colon cleansing and other health issues.

As people get older, they began to realize the importance of “being regular” and are willing to try almost anything to maintain a healthy colon.

A diet rich in raw fruits and vegetables helps achieve this, but needs to be started sooner rather than later in life in order to be completely effective.

Self-enemas are certainly effective but are rather hard to do right on a regular basis.

Using Aloe Vera gel to cleanse and repair your system is perhaps the safest and gentlest way to go about keeping your colon healthy and happy.

Aloe Vera plants are one of the most popular ornamental plants in the country today. Whether you go to a super market, a home improvement store or a flower shop, chances are that you are going to run into a little stand with a few potted aloe plants on it.

There are two overall reasons for Aloe’s popularity as an indoor plant. The first reason is because Aloe Vera is an attractive plant that requires minimal amounts of attention.

The second and most important reason is that Aloe is a popular home based folk medicine that people have been using for centuries for skin and digestive disorders.

Health Benefits of Aloe Vera - Easy to Care for

The reason why we busy Americans like aloe is because it happens to be a very hardy plant that can go without water for a very long time and can survive severe temperature swings.

The lance like leaves of the Aloe Vera plant contain a gel like substance that helps them store vast amounts of water. This gel is also rich with long chain polysaccharide sugars that help it to fight off bacterial and fungal infections if the tough outer skin happens to get punctured or damaged.

Health Benefits of Aloe Vera - Things to watch out for

While the plant is nearly indestructible, there are a few things that you need to look out for. Since the plant originates from sub-tropical Africa and is 95 percent water, frost and below zero weather it like kryptonite to it.

If you live in a colder state, it is best to keep the plant indoors at a sunny window for the duration of winter. The plant is also so great at retaining water, it is also very easy to over water an Aloe plant and rob its roots of vital oxygen.

Be sure to let the roots dry out completely between watering, especially in the winter time when the plant is more dormant.

Health Benefits of Aloe Vera - Repotting

Since the roots of the plant tend to want to spread out rather than dig deep, it is better to go wider that deeper with your replacement pot.

You can mix your own soil using plenty of perlite and sand to aerate the root system or simply use a cacti potting mix. Be sure to place pebbles of varying shapes and sizes at the bottom of the pot to help ensure proper drainage.

With a little bit of care and maintenance, this nifty little plant will be giving back to for many years to come.

If you happen to get a burn, scrape or cut, simply tear off a piece of the Aloe leaf and apply the inner gel to the troublespot. It will help soothe away the pain as well as help to heal and repair the damage.

You can also ingest the gel if you suffer from indigestion and constipation. It is like having a whole medicine cabinet sitting on your window sill.

The days are getting longer, the mornings are getting warmer, and the kids are getting restless. Summer time is just around the corner and soon it will be time for swimming and barbeques.

While going out and soaking up the sun is almost a must after a long cloud filled winter, nowadays it must be done with care and caution. While the rays of the sun are beneficial, bringing warmth, happiness, and much needed vitamin D, too much exposure can also wind up being very painful and dangerous.

One of the most common casualties of the summer season are sunburns, caused when our skin is exposed to too much of the UV Radiation and consequently burns. Aside from the pain, the redness, the itching, and the flaking that occurs, getting burned too much can also damage your skin cells and lead to cancer later in life.

While the simple solution is to be sure to rub on a good SPF cream or lotion to help protect our hides, oftentimes the long winter and that yearning to once again to bask in the warm glow of the sun overrides our common sense and we end up burning ourselves during those first days of summer.

Once a sunburn happens, there is little you can do besides covering it up and allowing your skin to heal and curse yourself for needing to learn the hard way every single year.

While there are many different traditional home remedies out there for mild to moderate sunburns, one of the most tried and true remedies to treat sunburn, come from one of this countries favourite indoor plants: The Aloe Vera plant.

Just as it is a great soothing remedy from those burns from the barbeque, the inner gel of the Aloe plant is also a great thing to apply to sunburn skin. It will not only help to soothe away the pain, it will also aid in the healing process and even repair some of the cellular damage caused by those damaging UV Rays.

Aloe has been around for thousands of years, and there is a reason why desert dwelling civilizations like the Egyptians and Sumerians prized it for its medicinal properties.

The watery gel of this “garlic of the lily family” contains salicylic acid which is the same substance found in aspirin, helping to bring pain relief to your painful red patches of skin.

Aloe gel is also loaded with long chain sugars known as polysaccharides which perform the dual roles of skin protector and rejuvenator.

Polysaccharides have strong antiviral properties, so the applied aloe gel will help prevent infection to your burned flesh. These long chain sugars also penetrate your skin cells and provide the basic building blocks they need in order to properly rejuvenate.

Aloe Vera is also loaded with skin friendly Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant which can help curb some of the free radical damage that the UV Rays end up causing.

What is the Best Way to Treat Pimples?

How to treat pimples if you are over 20? Is Benzoyl Peroxide the best way to treat pimples? Is there any alternative way to treat pimples?

Click on Here to Find Out More About the Health Benefits of Aloe Vera

Acne sucks, and aside from getting an over the counter prescription meant to literally burn those ooey, gooey, puss filled pimples away, there is really very little that you can do about it.

Zits are the result of your skin becoming clogged with naturally occurring oils known as sebum. The trapped oils become a festering ground for bacteria and soon enough inflammation and an outbreak occurs.

If you are a teenager, where acne goes hand in hand with awkward dancing and braces, then it would be easy to simply tell you to “buck up” and wash your face occasionally.

How to treat pimples if you are over 20?

However, there are some people who end up suffering from acne outbreaks well into their 20s and even into their 30s. This is because aside from hormonal changes, other factors that contribute to pimples are genetics, diet and hygiene.

Is Benzoyl Peroxide the best way to treat pimples?

The most common over the counter treatment heaped upon the poor pimpled populace is benzoyl peroxide. This chemical compound which gets rid of acne by drying up the face is responsible for many of the billions of dollars that the multi-billion dollars pharmaceutical industry makes each year.

This is despite the fact that this chemical can irritate the face and your acne will most likely come back after you are done using it. Aside from this ever-popular option, there are also much more expensive prescription drugs that you can opt to have and even laser surgery available for the most extreme cases.

Since these big companies generally foot the ad revenue bills for most of the mainstream media, the fact that safe and completely natural alternatives exist is generally overlooked.

Aloe Vera – the alternative way to treat pimples

One great all-natural treatment for acne that might be sitting on your window sill is Aloe Vera. This little green plant features many skin friendly components and has been used as a popular home remedy to treat many skin problems and injuries such as burns, scrapes, cuts and insect bites.

The same soothing properties that bring relief from a sting or a bite can also be used to bring relief from the swelling and the itching that acne causes.

The inner gel of the plant also contains long chain polysaccharides which are building blocks that can help repair damaged skin. On top of that, aloe contains ample amounts of the powerhouse antioxidant: Vitamin E.
Vitamin E is considered by many experts to be your skins best friend.

Rubbing the inner gel of the plant on your pimple will also help to remove excess oil and bacteria and protect your skin from any future outbreaks

Before you go out and buy yourself some chemical concoction to burn away all those  zits that keep showing up, you should maybe consider going  into the houseplant section and picking up a little (or big) Aloe Vera Plant.

Aloe, which has been hanging around mankind since the time of the Pharaohs (Cleopatra used it as a beauty aid) is not only a great soother of burns, cuts and other boo boos, it is also a great natural remedy for a plethora of skin problems including acne

The watery inner gel of the Aloe barbadensis plant, is packed full of a variety of skin friendly components including Vitamin E which is the vitamin for skin problems, long chain polysaccharides that help penetrate into the skin, amino acids that help rebuild the skin, and even compounds that are both and inflammatory and anti-microbial.

When you apply this gel to your skin to treat acne, it will help soothe the inflammation that is contributing to the acne, kill the bacteria that those pimples are feeding off of and penetrate into the skin to help heal it from the damage that was caused.

Treat Acne - How to apply aloe

In order to use Aloe, you are going to need to remove a whole outer leaf from the plant. Take a serrated knife and cut as close to the base as you can in order to remove one of these fleshy green lancelets. Do not worry about the plant, it will soon close up the wound you make and start growing a new leaf.

Once you get your piece of aloe, cut a slit down the middle of it and let the yellow latex drain away. While this latex has other medicinal properties (such as a bowel cleanser) it can actually irritate the skin of some people.

Once drained, use your knife to remove the thick green skin of the leaf to reveal the inner gel. This is the stuff that you want to use. It may take some practice before you learn how to properly carve up a piece of Aloe, but soon you will be gutting it like you have been working in an cannery for a dozen years. Get that gel out and then rinse it under some cool water.

Now, cut off a piece of the gel, and apply it directly to the problem area of the skin being careful not to get any in your eyes. The gel will immediately sooth any inflammation and helps kill off any bacteria. Rub the gel in and let it penetrate your kin and do its work. Store what is left in an airtight container in the fridge.
