We’ve already discussed how the right kind of exercise can really help to improve your health and speed up the Leaky Gut healing process. So I want to share with you just a few of the great exercises that I use to help stimulate the nervous system and help the body to start healing faster.

And you can do these simple exercises in the comfort of your own home.

Keep in mind that these exercises are not meant to be performed rigorously or to the point of exhaustion. Instead they are meant to be performed in a controlled manner with more of a focus on your breathing.

The goal is to positively stimulate your nervous system which will also give you the added benefit of increased energy levels and a better sense of wellbeing.

Also note that exercises like these are also known to release endorphins which will positively impact your mood and improve symptoms of depression.

Please use extreme caution when performing any sort of exercise including the following. If you suffer from any type of back pain, neck pain, or sciatica then there are some good all natural programs to help you overcome the pain before performing these exercises.

Otherwise, here are the exercises…

1. Prone Cobra

The prone cobra is a great exercise for opening up and increasing mobility in the thoracic spine. This one exercise can greatly increase your energy levels.

Lie face down with your arms at your sides.

Take a deep slow breath and as you inhale, lift your chest off the ground while squeezing your shoulder blades together and rotating your arms so that your palms face away from your body and your thumbs are pointed up.

Keep your head and neck in line being careful not to tilt your head back while keeping your toes on the ground.

Hold this position until you need to breathe out and exhale slowly as you slowly lower your chest back to the floor.

If you feel stress on your low back, then squeeze your buttocks together before initiating the movement.

2. Hip Extension

This is another exercise that is great for the nervous system, especially if you haven’t exercised properly in a while.

Lie on your back with your arms at your sides and knees bent with feet flat on the floor.

Slowly lift your hips off the ground by squeezing your buttocks and pushing your heels into the ground.

Be sure that your knees stay in line with your hips and ankles and don’t flare out or in.

Slowly drop your hips back down to the ground.

If you feel stress on your low back, then squeeze your buttocks together before initiating the movement.

3. Wood Chop

This exercise is great for increasing intra-abdominal pressure which can stimulate digestion. It’s also great for stress relief.

Stand up straight with your arms by your side.

As you inhale, bring your arms up over your head with hands together.

As you exhale, bring your arms down and bending at the waist in the same motion as if you were chopping wood with an axe.

As the movement ends naturally, pause for a brief second before returning to your standing position.

You can alternate your chopping motion to the right, left, or center.

Depending on your physical condition and state of health, these simple exercises might seem extremely easy or extremely challenging. Either way, they will still provide the same benefit to help you achieve your overall goal of helping your body to heal your gut.

Good Exercise vs. Bad Exercise for Healing

Exercise has far too many other health benefits that it absolutely needs to be included in your daily activities.

In fact, the right kind of exercise can help…

But there is a catch because I did say the “right” kind of exercise.

Most people don’t know this but not all exercise is created equal so there are some big differences between good exercise and what I call bad exercise. And keep in mind that I use the term “bad exercise” loosely because it’s not bad for everyone.

It really depends on the overall goal of what you are trying to achieve. However, bad exercise can and will slow down, stop, and even worsen Leaky Gut Syndrome.

Bad Exercise for Healing – Cardio Exercise

I’m not entirely sure why, but most people seem to be obsessed with running, treadmills, elliptical trainers, aerobics and many other forms of continuous repetitive cardio exercise.

Yes, cardiovascular health is important but these forms of exercise are not the best way to improve your cardiovascular health. In fact, many competitive long distance runners suffer from enlarged hearts and often die from heart failure at an early age because the heart is really just a muscle. And overuse will cause it to compensate by growing just like any other muscle in the body which is not ideal for proper function.

But there’s a completely difference problem when it comes to your gut.

Cardio Breaks Down Healthy Living Cells

Cardio exercise is catabolic in nature. This means that it promotes catabolism within the body which is another way of saying that it promotes the breakdown of healthy living cells.

The body does this because long bouts of cardio elicits a stress response within the body. And when the body is under stress, it begins to hold onto its stored energy reserves (fat) and use up easier to access protein (muscle).

And hopefully you understand that this is the opposite of what you want when trying to heal. Instead of wasting the healthy living cells that you do have, you need to put your focus on instead rebuilding and promoting the growth of and repair of your cells.

This is due largely from the significant release in cortisol or stress hormone that occurs after performing this type of exercise. As I’ve mentioned before cortisol plays a vital role in turning off your body’s natural healing processes so it can instead respond to the given stress.

Good Exercise for Healing – Anabolic Exercise

If cardiovascular health is a goal, then you can achieve the same but even healthier cardiovascular effect from doing more weight bearing exercise. The more you use your muscles, the more blood they require. And the more blood they require the more your heart has to work to pump blood to them.

The biggest difference is that under these conditions, your heart isn’t being forced to work for long periods of time. Instead, it can work in shorter bursts and get plenty of healthy rest in between.

Anabolic Exercise Builds and Repairs Healthy Living Cells

The opposite of catabolic (cell breakdown) is anabolic which refers to the building, growth, and repair of cells.

So when I refer to anabolic exercise, I’m referring to exercise that elicits an anabolic response within the body which promotes the healing process.

Some examples of good anabolic exercise are:

But there still are some variables which need to be considered to ensure that you get the maximum healing effects of your anabolic exercise. And mostly I’m referring to the amount of exercise that you do.

You never want to over exert yourself with any form of exercise, otherwise the benefits will be greatly diminished. Anytime you work out, you should be energized afterward and that energy should continue with you throughout the day.

But if you feel worse and have lower energy throughout the day then you’re likely doing too much.

It’s best to build up slowly over time, especially if you haven’t exercised regularly for any period of time in order to give your nervous system time to adapt to these new demands on your body.

But the benefits are almost immediate and well worth the effort.

Leaky Gut Syndrome Treatment – Lifestyle for Healing Leaky Gut (the most important step)

What are the lifestyle changes do I need to make for leaky gut syndrome treatment? What are the steps do I need to take to reseal a leaky gut? Read on to find out more.

I often find that the one thing that is holding most people back from healing their leaky gut is that they are not willing to make the necessary changes to their lifestyle for the healing to take place. In reality, this is nothing more than a mental obstacle that you yourself must learn to circumvent.

If you are your own worst enemy, then you will struggle to heal anything that ails you. But if you are willing to rise above yourself then you will find that there is no ailment that you cannot overcome.

When healing leaky gut, you have to understand up front that for most of you, it was your lifestyle that that resulted in your leaky gut syndrome to begin with. I am not saying that you have to completely change your life but most people have a lot of room for improvement.

Even by beginning with the small steps such as slowly removing the problem foods from your diet is a good step in the right direction. The goal is to keep the momentum going as these subtle changes get easier and easier. But never lose sight of the goal because many small changes can up to something much bigger.

For those who struggle with change, I would like stimulate your thinking on this subject by sharing with you some sayings from Albert Einstein who, at least for me, had a way with words.

“You cannot solve a problem with the same thinking that created it.” – Albert Einstein

Think about it for a minute. In a nutshell, Einstein is saying that in order to solve any problem that you have created, you must alter your state of mind and make a conscious effort to change your thoughts in order to solve it.

This is very important for a couple of reasons. Most importantly, you must realize that nobody but you are responsible for your leaky gut syndrome. In fact, we are all responsible for everything in our lives, good and bad, because we create our own reality.

Taking the first step and assuming responsibility for your life and your leaky gut is one of the most powerful things you can do. This is because once you make this connection you will see that you can heal leaky gut just as easily as you created it.

Another reason that this quote is so important is because your mind controls your actions so if you want to change your actions, you have to start with your mind first.

Our minds are programmed to work efficiently. For example, the first time you threw a ball it probably felt very awkward. But after many repetitions the feeling becomes natural because the brain encodes this motor pattern into your nervous system.

This is exactly what happens with your lifestyle as well. You become accustomed to the way you eat, sleep, think, etc. This is all programmed into you and you have learned to live very efficiently this way. So naturally if you try to change these patterns it feels difficult and uncomfortable. But over time they become your new patterns and everything becomes easy once again. It is only a matter of consistency, effort, and time.

“Insanity is repeating same behavior and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein

Here is another quote we can all learn a lot from. This is simply saying that if you are not getting the results you want then you have to change what you are doing and try a different angle.

There are many examples of this but one of the most common is with weight loss. People always want to lose weight and many will continue the same diet for months or years waiting for results that never happen.

The key here is that if you are not getting results then try something new. When you do get results then make the most out of what is working. Anything else is utter insanity.

The point that Einstein has helped me make is that if you truly want to cure leaky gut then you must make the necessary changes in your lifestyle to promote the healing process. Most people though like the idea of healing much more than the act of healing. But if you are able to overcome your own mental roadblocks then you will be amazed at how much impact a little change to your lifestyle can have on your health.

Is Your Subconscious Holding You Back from Overcoming Leaky Gut Syndrome?

Is Your Subconscious Holding You Back from Overcoming Leaky Gut Syndrome?

Click Here to Find Out How to Naturally and Permanently Cure Leaky Gut Syndrome

I get plenty of emails from people all over the world asking for advice and help to overcome their struggle with Leaky Gut Syndrome. And after talking with them and hearing so many stories it has become quite evident to me that in many cases, people are just not ready to heal.

Of course, on the outside they express their eagerness to overcome their health problems but that is only coming from the outer conscious mind. But what they don’t know is that it’s the inner subconscious mind that plays a far bigger role in whether or not you are ready to heal.

And science is now studying the subconscious mind more and more and finding that the subconscious mind is far more active, purposeful, and independent than what they first thought.

The Importance of the Subconscious Mind

Think of it like this. Your subconscious mind is the unconscious part of your mind that runs in the background without you even knowing it. It contains all of your personal and social programming and is responsible for greatly influencing your decision making.

Of course, you might think that you’re decision making is based entirely on what’s logical but that’s just not the case.

Studies on the subconscious mind have shown that people become motivated to clean whenever there is the faintest small of cleaner in the air. Another study showed that people automatically become more competitive whenever there’s a briefcase in sight.

It’s triggers like these in our environment that cause our subconscious mind to react in certain ways without us even realizing it.

So it’s very important to understand your subconscious mind so that you can understand why you make some of the unhealthy decisions that you make and consequently reprogram it to make healthier ones.

The Subconscious Mind and Leaky Gut Syndrome

Could you be unconsciously holding on to your health problems because of some unknown and unconscious reason?

Maybe you’ve learned to play the role of the victim and use your chronic symptoms as a crutch in life. And if you removed that crutch then subconsciously you feel like you can’t live up to certain expectations. So you hold on to your chronic symptoms through self-sabotage in order to lower those expectations.

Or maybe you’ve been enduring your chronic symptoms for so long that you now identify yourself with them. And if you were to heal then you would have nothing left to identify with. So unconsciously, you do whatever it takes to maintain your identity because without it you’d be lost.

I’m sure some of this may seem farfetched but I assure you that it’s very real for many people but you’re just not aware of it on a conscious level.

But it’s not your fault and there is something that you can do about it if and when you are ready to.

Changing Your Subconscious Thought Patterns

The first step of changing your subconscious mind is to become aware of your actions.

When you become aware of your actions, you can begin to notice bad habits and repetitive patterns that you have developed which are holding you back from achieving your goals.

Maybe you jump from doctor to doctor or protocol to protocol without ever giving any single one a chance to really work because something more important always comes up.

Or maybe you’ve even gotten so far as to make some progress with your health but then find yourself going backwards and falling right back to where you started because you fell back into poor eating habits.

Once you begin to pick up on and notice these dis-empowering actions then you can begin to catch yourself before you do them. And then you can begin to reprogram your subconscious by choosing to replace it with a healthier empowering action that instead will help you get one step closer to overcoming Leaky Gut Syndrome and your chronic symptoms.

3 Simple Ways to Reprogram Your Mind for Healing Leaky Gut

Healing Leaky Gut - It should come as no surprise that your mind has quite a bit of influence over your ability to heal yourself. It can either be your best friend and help with the healing processes or it can be your worst enemy and really make matters even worse. So I want to share with you a few different techniques that you can use in the comfort of your own home to help you gain even more control over your mind.

It should come as no surprise that your mind has quite a bit of influence over your ability to heal yourself. It can either be your best friend and help with the healing processes or it can be your worst enemy and really make matters even worse.

The way that I look at it is that you can never focus too much on improving your subconscious to work for you rather than against you.

So I want to share with you a few different techniques that you can use in the comfort of your own home to help you gain even more control over your mind.

You can do one or all three but the main goal when working with my clients is to find one that works best for them so that will continue to use it. Otherwise you won’t do it and you won’t get the benefits.

Silent Meditation

Meditation is one of those practices that takes a little bit of dedication but once you get the hang of it, it can and will literally transform just about every area of your life.

Personally, I think too many people are too intimidated by the idea of meditation that they never actually give it a fair try. And it does take some patience and practice so expect it to be frustrating in the beginning. Everything takes practice to get good at and meditation is no different.

I don’t of anyone who picked up meditation overnight and loved it. But I do know plenty of people who have started and kept with it and are completely new people (for the better) because of it.

In fact, I remember the frustration when I first started myself but I stayed committed and it wasn’t long before I was feeling the positive effects and was quite a bit happier for it. And that improvement of my mood carried over into my work, my relationships, and my home life and life in generals got easier.

A simple way to get started is to just sit in a comfortable position. You don’t need any crazy seated posture for it to work. And while sitting, just watch your thoughts and instead of actively thinking, just observe and witness your thoughts.

You don’t need to judge your thoughts or try to force them to stop. Just sit there, detach yourself and watch. If you need a visual then you can picture your thoughts floating down a river. And instead of jumping in after them, just watch them float by.

Over time, you should notice that your river has less and less thoughts floating by and you begin to experience more of a sense of peace.

This is a great way to let go of stress and help facilitate the healing process.

Emotional Release

Unfortunately, most of us have been taught to deal with our emotional in an unhealthy way since a very young age. As kids, when your feelings got hurt you were most often told to “suck it up” and “stop crying”. But nobody stops to consider the impact that this has on a child.

All this does is to teach kids how to internalize their emotions instead of externalizing them which is much healthier. And this easily becomes a programmed behavior that sticks with you through life even as an adult.

But the biggest problem is that when you internalize your emotions instead of dealing with them in a healthy way, they tend to create a lot of emotional stress which will carry over into every aspect of your life and will hold you back from healing.

But by releasing these pent up emotions you can literally offload a lot of emotional stress which can really help free up your mind to work for you instead of against you.

The technique itself is very simple. Instead of internalizing your emotions, find a way to release them alone in a controlled environment such as a bedroom where you don’t have to worry about being judged.

If you find yourself becoming angry then lock yourself in your bedroom and yell or beat your pillow.

If you find yourself being overcome with sadness, then go to your bedroom and just cry. There’s really nothing wrong with crying. It’s just society that has placed such a false negative view on it.

But by releasing your emotions you will find that you will be able to let those emotions go and move on instead of being caught up in them while they ruin your day and cause unnecessary long term stress.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

Click Here to Find Out How to Naturally and Permanently Cure Leaky Gut Syndrome

There are also more subtle approaches to handling deep seated emotional issues and help reprogram your subconscious like through the use of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). EFT is a simple system that was developed by Gary Craig which uses the same principles of Acupuncture and acupressure to tap into the subconscious mind.

Watch this video to learn about Emotional Freedom Technique for healing leaky gut – How to Tap with Jessica Ortner: Emotional Freedom Technique Informational Video

So instead of releasing your emotions outright, EFT uses tapping along certain meridians within the body while experiencing the problematic emotion in order help your mind disassociate that emotion and let it go.

I have used EFT myself and with many clients and the results are great, especially for those who stick with it since it can take some time and effort to be really effective.

But for many who need all the help they can get, it can really help give you the advantage over your mind when you need it most.
