Is Your Subconscious Holding You Back from Overcoming Leaky Gut Syndrome?

I get plenty of emails from people all over the world asking for advice and help to overcome their struggle with Leaky Gut Syndrome. And after talking with them and hearing so many stories it has become quite evident to me that in many cases, people are just not ready to heal.

Of course, on the outside they express their eagerness to overcome their health problems but that is only coming from the outer conscious mind. But what they don’t know is that it’s the inner subconscious mind that plays a far bigger role in whether or not you are ready to heal.

And science is now studying the subconscious mind more and more and finding that the subconscious mind is far more active, purposeful, and independent than what they first thought.

The Importance of the Subconscious Mind

Think of it like this. Your subconscious mind is the unconscious part of your mind that runs in the background without you even knowing it. It contains all of your personal and social programming and is responsible for greatly influencing your decision making.

Of course, you might think that you’re decision making is based entirely on what’s logical but that’s just not the case.

Studies on the subconscious mind have shown that people become motivated to clean whenever there is the faintest small of cleaner in the air. Another study showed that people automatically become more competitive whenever there’s a briefcase in sight.

It’s triggers like these in our environment that cause our subconscious mind to react in certain ways without us even realizing it.

So it’s very important to understand your subconscious mind so that you can understand why you make some of the unhealthy decisions that you make and consequently reprogram it to make healthier ones.

The Subconscious Mind and Leaky Gut Syndrome

Could you be unconsciously holding on to your health problems because of some unknown and unconscious reason?

Maybe you’ve learned to play the role of the victim and use your chronic symptoms as a crutch in life. And if you removed that crutch then subconsciously you feel like you can’t live up to certain expectations. So you hold on to your chronic symptoms through self-sabotage in order to lower those expectations.

Or maybe you’ve been enduring your chronic symptoms for so long that you now identify yourself with them. And if you were to heal then you would have nothing left to identify with. So unconsciously, you do whatever it takes to maintain your identity because without it you’d be lost.

I’m sure some of this may seem farfetched but I assure you that it’s very real for many people but you’re just not aware of it on a conscious level.

But it’s not your fault and there is something that you can do about it if and when you are ready to.

Changing Your Subconscious Thought Patterns

The first step of changing your subconscious mind is to become aware of your actions.

When you become aware of your actions, you can begin to notice bad habits and repetitive patterns that you have developed which are holding you back from achieving your goals.

Maybe you jump from doctor to doctor or protocol to protocol without ever giving any single one a chance to really work because something more important always comes up.

Or maybe you’ve even gotten so far as to make some progress with your health but then find yourself going backwards and falling right back to where you started because you fell back into poor eating habits.

Once you begin to pick up on and notice these dis-empowering actions then you can begin to catch yourself before you do them. And then you can begin to reprogram your subconscious by choosing to replace it with a healthier empowering action that instead will help you get one step closer to overcoming Leaky Gut Syndrome and your chronic symptoms.

3 Simple Ways to Reprogram Your Mind for Healing Leaky Gut

Healing Leaky Gut - It should come as no surprise that your mind has quite a bit of influence over your ability to heal yourself. It can either be your best friend and help with the healing processes or it can be your worst enemy and really make matters even worse. So I want to share with you a few different techniques that you can use in the comfort of your own home to help you gain even more control over your mind.

It should come as no surprise that your mind has quite a bit of influence over your ability to heal yourself. It can either be your best friend and help with the healing processes or it can be your worst enemy and really make matters even worse.

The way that I look at it is that you can never focus too much on improving your subconscious to work for you rather than against you.

So I want to share with you a few different techniques that you can use in the comfort of your own home to help you gain even more control over your mind.

You can do one or all three but the main goal when working with my clients is to find one that works best for them so that will continue to use it. Otherwise you won’t do it and you won’t get the benefits.

Silent Meditation

Meditation is one of those practices that takes a little bit of dedication but once you get the hang of it, it can and will literally transform just about every area of your life.

Personally, I think too many people are too intimidated by the idea of meditation that they never actually give it a fair try. And it does take some patience and practice so expect it to be frustrating in the beginning. Everything takes practice to get good at and meditation is no different.

I don’t of anyone who picked up meditation overnight and loved it. But I do know plenty of people who have started and kept with it and are completely new people (for the better) because of it.

In fact, I remember the frustration when I first started myself but I stayed committed and it wasn’t long before I was feeling the positive effects and was quite a bit happier for it. And that improvement of my mood carried over into my work, my relationships, and my home life and life in generals got easier.

A simple way to get started is to just sit in a comfortable position. You don’t need any crazy seated posture for it to work. And while sitting, just watch your thoughts and instead of actively thinking, just observe and witness your thoughts.

You don’t need to judge your thoughts or try to force them to stop. Just sit there, detach yourself and watch. If you need a visual then you can picture your thoughts floating down a river. And instead of jumping in after them, just watch them float by.

Over time, you should notice that your river has less and less thoughts floating by and you begin to experience more of a sense of peace.

This is a great way to let go of stress and help facilitate the healing process.

Emotional Release

Unfortunately, most of us have been taught to deal with our emotional in an unhealthy way since a very young age. As kids, when your feelings got hurt you were most often told to “suck it up” and “stop crying”. But nobody stops to consider the impact that this has on a child.

All this does is to teach kids how to internalize their emotions instead of externalizing them which is much healthier. And this easily becomes a programmed behavior that sticks with you through life even as an adult.

But the biggest problem is that when you internalize your emotions instead of dealing with them in a healthy way, they tend to create a lot of emotional stress which will carry over into every aspect of your life and will hold you back from healing.

But by releasing these pent up emotions you can literally offload a lot of emotional stress which can really help free up your mind to work for you instead of against you.

The technique itself is very simple. Instead of internalizing your emotions, find a way to release them alone in a controlled environment such as a bedroom where you don’t have to worry about being judged.

If you find yourself becoming angry then lock yourself in your bedroom and yell or beat your pillow.

If you find yourself being overcome with sadness, then go to your bedroom and just cry. There’s really nothing wrong with crying. It’s just society that has placed such a false negative view on it.

But by releasing your emotions you will find that you will be able to let those emotions go and move on instead of being caught up in them while they ruin your day and cause unnecessary long term stress.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

There are also more subtle approaches to handling deep seated emotional issues and help reprogram your subconscious like through the use of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). EFT is a simple system that was developed by Gary Craig which uses the same principles of Acupuncture and acupressure to tap into the subconscious mind.

So instead of releasing your emotions outright, EFT uses tapping along certain meridians within the body while experiencing the problematic emotion in order help your mind disassociate that emotion and let it go.

I have used EFT myself and with many clients and the results are great, especially for those who stick with it since it can take some time and effort to be really effective.

But for many who need all the help they can get, it can really help give you the advantage over your mind when you need it most.

Repairing Your Leaky Gut – 4 Ways to Nourish Your Leaky Gut

Repairing Your Leaky Gut - If you are suffering from leaky gut syndrome, you need to supply your gut with all of the nutrients that it needs, it will have all the necessary building blocks to repair the cells that line your intestinal wall. So, here are 4 easy ways to nourish your leaky gut.

Click Here to Find Out How to Naturally and Permanently Cure Leaky Gut Syndrome

When you suffer from Leaky Gut Syndrome it’s important to place emphasis on nourishing your body. By supplying your gut with all of the nutrients that it needs, it will have all the necessary building blocks to repair the cells that line your intestinal wall.

But for most Leaky Gut sufferers, this is easier said than done.

When your digestive tract becomes compromised as it is with Leaky Gut, then your ability to digest and absorb nutrients is greatly reduced.

So here are some helpful tips to help you get the most out of your food.

1. Avoid Nutrient Blocking Foods

Believe it or not but some foods actually work to block the absorption of nutrients when you eat them.

Some of the biggest culprits are foods that contain Phytic Acid which is found in the hulls of grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds just to name a few. And when you consume foods that contain Phytic Acid it literally binds itself to minerals within the digestive tract and prevents your body from absorbing them.

This is a big reason why many of these foods require cooking and proper preparation to minimize amount of Phytic Acid present. But you can rest assured that 99% of grains are not properly prepared which is a reason in itself to avoid them

2. Cook Your Veggies

Many people will argue this because they will say that raw vegetables contain natural enzymes to help aid in digestion. And they are partially correct. And they will also say that cooking vegetables leads to a loss of nutrients due to the heating process. And again, they are partially correct.

But the issue has much less to do with how many nutrients the vegetable has as it does with how many of those nutrients your digestive tract can absorb. Raw vegetables are very difficult to digest thus there are far less of these nutrients made available for you to absorb. And if they aren’t absorbed, they’re excreted.

So do yourself a favor and cook your veggies.

3. Eat Your Meat

It’s very common to hear people talk about how nutritious vegetables are. In fact, as kids we were all told that we had to eat our vegetables because they are the healthy part of the meal. But in a 1-on-1 comparison between meat and vegetables, meat wins hands down.

Per volume, meat is far more nutrient dense than vegetables. And many of the nutrients found in meat can’t be obtained from vegetables because they are fat soluble and require fat for proper absorption.

So be sure to eat meat with every meal.

4. Bone Broths

You’ve probably heard it before… You need plenty of minerals for strong bones. So it should make perfect sense that bone broth (properly made) would naturally be loaded with minerals. This is because when you make bone broth you are literally pulling the high mineral content out of the bones and into the broth.

Plus, it’s loaded with plenty of other beneficial nutrients such as amino acids.

It should be no surprise that most every single person who suffers from Leaky Gut Syndrome or that has compromised digestion is not getting the necessary nutrients that they need from their diet. And these nutrients are the building blocks for repairing your Leaky Gut.

By following these simple tips then you’ll be on your way to nourishing your Leaky Gut and giving it the best opportunity possible to heal.

Why saturated fats are necessary for healing and maintaining a healthy digestive tract?

Saturated Fat and Why Your Gut Can’t Heal Without It

When it comes to your gut and your health, saturated fats might be much more important than you think. In fact, what if I told you that saturated fats would help you heal your gut?

Before you think I’ve gone off the deep end, let me introduce you to some interesting statistics about saturated fats. First, I want you to consider that prior to 1920 heart disease and cancer were almost unheard of. But since then, have a look at these trends…

Between 1910 and 1970…

  • Animal fat consumption DECREASED by 21%
  • Butter consumption DECREASED from 18 lbs. per person per year to only 4 lbs.
  • Refined vegetable oils consumption (much of it trans-fats) INCREASED by 400%
  • Sugar and processed food consumption INCREASED by 60%

Between 1970 to 2006…

  • Decrease in the consumption of high saturated-fat foods like full-fat milks, eggs and red meat.
  • Butter consumption (a saturated fat) has decreased by 1/3.
  • Refined salad oil (heavily rancid) consumption more than tripled.

Are You Ready for the Truth?

So how come if saturated fat consumption has been decreasing further and further for the past century, why have heart diseasecancer, and other health problems continued to increase at a faster and faster rate?

Because saturated fats are not the problem.

The Necessity of Saturated Fats…

  • Saturated fats are necessary for the absorption of calcium for bones (so fat-free or skim milk is not a good source of calcium).
  • Saturated fats are a necessary precursor to your hormone production such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and even Vitamin D.
  • Saturated fats are necessary for maintaining the health and rigidity of your cells.
  • Saturated fats are necessary for the utilization of omega-3 fatty acids which are widely accepted as an integral part of your health.

But Maybe Most Importantly…

Saturated fats are necessary for healing and maintaining a healthy digestive tract.

Think About It…

If saturated fats were so bad, then why is breastmilk that babies rely on so early in life full of saturated fat? If something is so beneficial for a baby, then why would it be deadly to an adult?

So How Much Fat Do You Need?

That depends on your genetics. I use and teach a method called Metabolic Typing where you determine exactly how much fat you need in your diet to be at your best based on your genetics.

If you’re interested in learning more about your Metabolic Type and determining exactly how much fat you need in your diet then it’s all part of the Leaky Gut Cure

Eat This, Not That

Eat: High quality, pastured, non-medicated, organic eggs, dairy, poultry, and meat.

Not: Processed meats with added preservatives and chemicals.

Bonus Tip

Your body stores toxins in your fat cells and animals are no different. So limit your consumption of fat from conventionally raised animals who store all of the added hormones, pesticides, and medications in their fat cells.

6 Reasons Why High Fructose Corn Syrup is Bad for Your Gut Health

Why High Fructose Corn Syrup is Bad for Your Gut Health? Why you should never eat high fructose corn syrup? 6 Reasons Your Gut Should Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup

Click Here to Find Out How to Naturally and Permanently Cure Leaky Gut Syndrome

6 Reasons Your Gut Should Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup

I spent my night out with my family and my 2 year old son going door to door collecting leaky gut promoting high fructose corn syrup ridden candy. That festive candy is worse for your health than you probably thought.

Yes, I am quite the health nut but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want my son to enjoy on all the fun holidays or festivities. So last night I wanted to keep my little “organic free-range chicken” up to par with organic standards which isn’t easy on a night where all regards for health are tossed out the window.

But as you can see, I also couldn’t resist dressing him up in an adorable costume and taking pictures to use as blackmail for a little later in life.

Of course my little chick wanted candy of his own just like all the other kids but I came prepared. To avoid all that high fructose corn syrup, I emptied some wrappers from some of the more popular candies and filled them with more health healthy candy alternatives like organic macaroons and dates which contain only all natural ingredients. When he wanted a piece of candy, I made sure he got one of my special treats. The best part was he never knew the difference.

Whatever you did last night is in the past (including eating all that festive candy!). Do yourself, your kids, and your leaky gut a favor and toss out whatever festive candy you might have left and replace it with a healthier alternative like I mentioned above.

Regardless of what festival, you should cut all processed candy out of your diet.

6 Reasons Why You and Your Leaky Gut Should Stay Away from High Fructose Corn Syrup

1. It travels straight to the liver where it is metabolized directly into fat. In fact, it converts to fat more than any other sugar.

2. A recent study found evidence that it contributes to the development of diabetes.

3. It causes you to eat more, consume more calories, and gain weight because it does not stimulate production of the hormone leptin which works to regulate your appetite and signal to your brain that you are full.

4. It is highly processed and contains no enzymes, vitamins, or minerals. Instead it strips your body of these much needed micro-nutrients.

5. The fructose in high fructose corn syrup is not the same as fructose in fruit. It is chemically altered and the body doesn’t even recognize it as a food. Also, it is almost always made out of genetically modified corn.

6. It has been shown to increase osteoporosistooth decay, anemia, osteoarthritis, and many other leaky gut symptoms.

Do yourself a favor and ditch those festive candy filled with high fructose corn syrup. There are tons of healthier alternatives that will leave you more satisfied and healthier in the long run.
